MADISON, Wis. — More Wisconsin companies are announcing layoffs or layoff plans.

Wausau Financial Systems, of Wausau, said it will be cutting 24 positions, including 14 in its Mosinee office. The company helps businesses develop payment solutions such as check processing.

Officials said the cuts follow many cost-cutting measures and an unpaid leave program.

Two companies notified the state Department of Workforce Development of layoffs.

LDS Test and Measurement in Middleton said 51 workers will be permanently laid off between the end of May and the end of September as it ceases operations in Wisconsin.

APB Induction in Brookfield said it has permanently laid off two dozen workers, and seven others are on temporary layoffs. The company blamed the moves on orders that have suddenly been cancelled or postponed.

Corporate spokesman Arvind Gopalratnam said the layoffs involved fewer than 50 people at the company’s Ohmeda plant in Madison, but he would not reveal an exact number.
