If you get HDNet on your satelite, dish, or cable system, this auction will be broadcast on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Oct 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

I am thinking that this auction will become the accepted standard for prices on collector cars for the next 6 months or so. As one who is trying to sell a collector car, I hope prices are up at this auction. As a potential buyer, I hope prices slip down another notch or two.

My neighbor attended Mecum last spring, and brought home a 1 of 16 White 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 equipped with a Hemi and a 4 speed :)

I looked at the listing for this car last week, and you’re right, it is a nice one! Even though it’s a 66, and not a ’65, I’ll wager that it still brings $22K to $26K, if it even meets the sllers reserve.

I watched most of Thursday’s auction action last night. That ’67 Impala SS convertible 427 was a smokin’ hot buy for the new owner!!!!

Many of the lower priced cars seemed to have multiple issues with originality (exterior color, bolt on parts, shoddy workmanship, engine swaps, etc.). Having said this, someone looking for an entry level collector car could have bought some bargain cars last night.

Did anyone see that gentleman from Jefferson whose corvette was supposed to roll over the auction block last night?

One of the best buys was the Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner that went for $64000.

The mid 60’s Corvettes and and Chevy 409 convertibles pictured above seemed like a steal. It may be a while before prices rebound, but they will at some point.
