What do you think of the Minocqua residents that took advantage of the gas price mistake. Its kind of pathetic that they would do that, especially if they trade there regularly. Don’t they realize that the owner would know who it was.

You can never underestimate the behavior of stupid people in large (and small) groups.

This is nothing more than “group mentality” at it’s worst. The stupidity fed on itself and grew until everybody wanted to get involved, right or wrong. I would suspect, at the time, that no one was actually thinking about the wrongness of what they were actually doing.

It is also people being frustrated with the oil companies making big profits at our expense. They view this as a way to get back at the big company when in reality they ended up hurting the little guy.
