Amazing all the deaths on the roads in the area lately. Sounds like they need to really get tough on drunk driving. I think it may be time for checkpoints. It is ridiculous to let the carnage go on. Obviously people haven’t learned or have a bad problem with alcohol.

Nick, I don’t understand it either.

Wisconsin needs to get tough on drunk driver’s and I would support random sobriety check points. I find it amazing how many offenders are charged with 3d, 4th, and 5th OWI offenses and still drive and haven’t spent anytime in jail. How can you even register a car or get insurance with 2, 3, 4, or 5 or more OWI convictions on your record?

Yes, very sad. Drunk driving accidents happen way too often ending the young lives of many. Some of these are first time offenders but more often than not, they’ve been picked up repeated times.

I feel for the families involved over the weekend, those accidents could’ve been prevented.

I remember reading this article a couple of days ago (it may seem like more due to the news publicizing it):

    http://www.madison.com/archives/read.php?ref=/tct/2009/03/05/0903050227.php

“Traffic deaths in Wisconsin continued to be at the lowest levels in years, with the 29 fatalities in February the fourth lowest total for the month since World War II.”
