A real classic was Night of the Living Dead. It was shot on a minimal budget and brought in alot of money. Gearge Romero was the director. There were a couple of sequels and many other movies using the same scenario. It was shot in an eery location and the premise of corpses coming to life was scary.

I saw “Shawn Of The Dead” last year. A comedy about people surviving and then living with the undead. I recommend it if you get a chance to see it.

My favorite is Alien. It showed a realistic alien, not a cartoon monster. The plot was believable and there was good attention to detail. Alien 2 was the rare sequel that was as good as the original. The rest of the Alien movies can be skipped.

Another good one was The Thing starring Kurt Russel. It was set at an artic outpost and was a remake of a movie of the same name from the 1950’s.

This is a tough question because there are so many!

My very favorite would have to be…..

‘Don’t be Afraid of the Dark’ with Kim Darby
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069992/

I watched that movie when it was on TV many decades
    ago. Interesting and mysterious!

Following a close second would be…..

    ‘The People Under the Stairs’
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105121/

This movie is horrifying and funny at the same time!
    But mostly it’s funny!

What about the original “The Blob”? It was actually quite funny! Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif
