I made it all last year without attending a bad show. Then, today I had to ruin my streak by attending this abortion of a car show. I’m sure it works in some way, shape, or form, but not that I could tell. I will say that many of the spectators were polite and considerate when you talked with them. There were a few who got lost from the carnival and had no problem touching participants cars… That just pisses me off every time.

This guy’s using bungee cords because last year at this show the wind took his hood and he got his axe handle prop rod got jammed between the hood and fender.
Not too bad…. For a Mustang.
moparkid25ParticipantWas this for all Chargers or just the new ones? I went to a National Dodge Charger meet that they had for a couple years in Madison at the VFW off of CV with my ’68. IIRC, the new Chargers were not welcome due to the 4-door design.
moparkid25ParticipantMonroe has there Balloon Rally car show at the Green County Fairgrounds on Saturday, so I’m going to go there. Sunday I may head up to Beaver Dam, or maybe down to Durand, IL to check out a show I’ve never been to before. It is Fathers Day and all….
moparkid25ParticipantI’m with this guy ^^^^

It would be very appreciated! I can meet up with you and give you as many flyers as needed.Did you call down to Albany? Maybe one of those guys can give you a hand

moparkid25ParticipantNo shows this week. My car will be in the Mt. Horeb Summer Frolic Parade on Sunday.
moparkid25ParticipantThis stuff always makes me laugh. Yes, if you want a concours assembly line show car, then go right ahead. But if you build a car your way, then some numbers nazi comes over to critique your project/car/build, well lets just say its a good way for them to get some free loose teeth.
I’ve never been that serious about numbers matching, or having the correct amount of paint on the heads of the intake bolts. I like to have stuff correct for the vehicle, but even I’m not that anal.
Cruise some of the Corvette sites sometime. Always good for a laugh. And they said Mopar guys are goofy…..
moparkid25ParticipantSounds like a good show to possibly check out next year. I’ve wanted to experiment with shows in IL and IA, and have done a couple. Its nice to see different cars and different people.
moparkid25ParticipantAnd for the record, I know more about dealing with someone with disabilities than anyone (with or without a handicap) on this forum.

I guess it all boils down to what you’re willing to go through. Speaking as someone who was once a quadriplegic, and still has problems, some of us are willing to do whatever it takes in order to enjoy our passions. I made the decision not to get handicap plates because I’m (once again / still) able to walk. If that dude qualifies for a disabled tag, and still is willing to climb into that car, I say: more power to him!
Guys in our condition could easily take offense at your first comment. My initial reaction is: Who the he!! are you to tell me when to give up my car? I know you wouldn’t enjoy being told to give up your car, and I hope you see my side too.
As far as a difficult vehicle to enter, I’m willing to let you compare your ride with my Pantera, or the CJ5 with the roll cage, or even the Pinz, any day. I still wedge myself into them, just cuz. Maybe that dude is just a stubborn old guy like me?
Cheers,
PaulUgh…. When my mother dies, Paul, you can have the job.
