What’s the going rate for gas in your part of the world? Currently this is what I am seeing in the Houston area.

    87 octane – $2.09/gallon
    91 octane – $2.15/gallon
    93 octane – $2.22/gallon

I filled up last Thursday and it cost me $29.00 to fill up the tank in the Mustang, which is the highest I have ever paid. The way my motor has been tuned I have no choice but to use 93 octane. When I filled up that day there was a Hummer H2 behind me and I can tell from the owner’s face he was dreading the final tally. He filled up on 87 octane and when everything was said and done he had to fork over $50.00.

The sad thing was that he will probably have to fill up again in a couple of days.

The BP in Brodhead now sells race gas. $6.19/gal off the pump 👿

Tried to buy some yesterday, but they wouldn’t let me go directly from pump to car with it

They are talking gas prices around $5/gallon this summer, lets hope it doesn’t happen.

Gas prices would go lower and we would have more jobs in this country if our “President” didn’t veto the oil pipeline. Obama is Public Enemy #1.

Oh good.. what’s the reason for the price increases now?

Oil companies should be regulated like the utility companies are. It is a commodity that affects too many products to be as volitile as it is.

We need to drill our own oil and make the market more competitive. Then the price of oil will drop.

On a side note, the Mobil station in Mt. Horeb has closed. It was the only local place to get 93 w/o ethanol in my area, now I have to drive to Verona to get it. I hope someone comes in and re-opens, but I’m afraid that won’t happen without having new tanks put in the ground and updating the building. Its been my primary fillin’ station since I got a drivers license.

I filled up my truck last night (almost) at Kwik Trip. I feel dirty about it… Then when you pay with a debit card it only allows you to buy $60 worth of fuel, which doesn’t fill me up. On top of that, I was fueling with my truck running, which all the naysayers get scared about. Some old fart had the cajones to say something to the effect of “Can’t you read the signs? It says to turn off your engine.” I politely explained to him that he should be more concerned with the lady on the opposite end smoking while she’s getting gas, that I can read, that airplanes fuel in mid-air and don’t turn there engines off, and that my momma taught me to mind my own business before my nose ended up out of joint

I paid 3.89 for premium at a BP near where I work about by Alliant. Noticed on East Wahington just down from the Capitol the BP had it for 3.59. Pays to be observant.
