MADD to lay off 2 of 3 state staffersJanuary 21, 2009 at 5:37 pm #33455Amigo2kModeratorA whole bunch more layoffs reported today for WI:
http://www.madison.com/tct/news/stories/433868The biggest layoff on the list that came out Tuesday involves 367 employees at electronics retailer Circuit City. It announced last week it was closing all of its U.S. stores, including seven stores in Wisconsin, by March 21 or no later than two weeks after that date.
Circuit City has 47 employees at the east side Madison store on East Springs Drive and 54 employees at the west side Madison store on Commerce Drive.
Other Circuit City stores are in Greenfield with 56 employees, Racine with 49 employees, Brookfield with 55 employees, Grand Chute with 49 employees and Ashwaubenon with 57 employees.
The Reinhart Retail Group, headquartered in La Crosse, is either selling or closing operations or trimming staff at nine facilities in Wisconsin, affecting 363 workers at two hardware stores, one farm supply store, two groceries, one home center, one warehouse and two corporate offices.

These facilities are for sale, according to letters filed with the state, so if sold the layoffs will take place between Jan. 29 and Feb. 27, but if they aren’t sold, the layoffs will come March 16-29.
The Reinhart facilities shutting down include an appliance warehouse in Chippewa Falls, affecting 13 employees, and an FS store in Eau Claire, affecting 11 employees. Layoffs will take place March 16-29.
A corporate real estate office in Eau Claire will cut six employees, and the corporate headquarters in La Crosse will cut nine employees. Layoffs will be between March 16 and 29.
The Cub Foods closings involve 319 employees, including 70 at the Verona Road store in Madison, 97 at the east side store in Green Bay, 81 at the west side store in Green Bay and 71 at the Beloit store.
The layoffs are all scheduled for March 13.
