Thought so, that’s another Steve “Foose” creation, beautiful car!
circletrackParticipantwhat color was the ’70?
circletrackParticipantI thought the opposite, there were cars in every direction for sale!
That ’56 Chevy… oh my, what the heck? There were a few cars that left you scratching your head. Lots of “projects” that were started but will never be finished, who wants to buy something like that?
circletrackParticipantawesome day, perfect weather! the swap continues to entertain and amuse me, you find just about anything and everything… same with the car corral!
circletrackParticipantLove the Olds! You don’t see many of those, cool car!
circletrackParticipantMaybe it’s easier to agree to disagree. This site was created by some really good guys that have great intentions. We all don’t like the same shows, we all attend for one reason or another, but in the end some people just aren’t going to get along no matter what. This isn’t grade school, I think we can (and should) all act like adults and respect each others opinions.
As for the bad apple… I’ve run across quite a few through the years and have worked hard to surround myself with good ones!
circletrackParticipantSteve said that Malibu has been on several times, it’s too good of a deal – more than likely a scam?
circletrackParticipantI was there last night also (didn’t bring the car), but it was a nice night. I’d like to see this done earlier in the year when it stays light out a bit longer and work isn’t the next day
circletrackParticipantHe’s pretty picky on who gets into his shop..
circletrackParticipantI went and don’t think that had that many cars, but I could be wrong. It was a picture perfect day!
circletrackParticipantWe are all invited to help spend that $50, right???
Congrats Ryan!
circletrackParticipantI hate to say it, but I would be insulted if my show kept coming up over and over… they know they have issues and will work on them. I do like your ideas, but feel it’s up to the people putting on the show to make decisions, and do the right thing to continue to improve an already great show.
circletrackParticipantNeed to do some maintenance work on the car, clean up the engine bay… normal routine stuff!
circletrackParticipantConsistency is the key to all fairness in judging; seeing there were over 700 cars and less than 15 judges, they are either going to have to split up the classes and get more judges or put a year limit on the show, which they do not want to do.
Not everyone wants to judge, it’s hard work and unrewarding in most cases. I do agree that instead of complaining about a show; maybe offer suggestions, ask what you can do to help.
John, I have been beat out by other cars at many shows, it happens. If I happen to win at a show – it’s a bonus and a bonus for that day when I’m in front of my peers – if not, I move on and go to the next show. Life is too short to worry about getting beat out by someone you think is less deserving. Winning is all in the eyes of the person judging your vehicle – may it be someone who has years of experience and knows what they are looking at, or someone walking by your car and voting for you because they like your car. Judges are not supposed to score you because they like the color, make or model of the vehicle, they are supposed to score based on the quality or condition of the vehicle.
Tbear, back to your original posting… Your judging sheet does confuse me, but again we don’t know what the judge was looking at, what other cars were in your class and so on. I do know that with that many cars, if you happen to score even 5 points less than the car in front of you, you can be out of the running for an award.
circletrackParticipantJohn, you are a nice guy and mean well, but it’s time to put this behind you and MOVE on… you are doing nothing but making yourself miserable, is that how you really want to live, upset over a trophy that you quite possibly wouldn’t have earned in the first place?
Until you (or anyone that chooses to bash an event) puts one on and knows what goes on behind the scenes, the months of planning and so much more – I don’t think it’s fair to continue to bash a good show. It’s very difficult to get good judges and we ALL make mistakes from time to time. It’s time to stop bringing other people into your own issues, we understand you don’t like Pardeeville and other shows, and that’s fine, but try to move past this negativity you have surrounded yourself with.
