circletrackParticipant
Let’s hope the weather cooperates for anything this weekend.. looks rainy and cold for most of it!
circletrackParticipantYep, remember going to those shows for years… Last I heard several of their members are not in good health, which is a shame. I’m glad someone else started up a show at the VFW, it’s a perfect spot!
They also had shows in Cottage Grove at what’s now Doubledays. It’s been called Neil’s Diamond and I know something else when shows were held there.
circletrackParticipantWHAT????
circletrackParticipantWe’ve attended some great shows through the years.. I remember going to a few at the Black Bear in Cottage Grove that were always great. Loved having World of Wheels in the Coliseum, and all the shows held there.
I’ll have to think about some…
circletrackParticipantYes, it is getting more and more common for shows to have display only vehicles, but you still have to pay to enter the event. I can’t imagine why those “new” cars were parked with the older ones, but that’s how it goes.
I haven’t been to this show before, but it sounds like someone made a mistake, it happens. We have cars coming in the back gate at our show last year, it takes all kinds!
circletrackParticipantThe majority of the shows in this area do not park cars within their class (with the exception of Blanchardville and a couple others), most shows park you as you come in, unless you request otherwise. Did this show park you by class?
That red Chevelle has been around for many, many years which is obvious by the paint scheme
circletrackParticipantWow, that is an interesting way to judge! Nothing like putting all the work back on you? People either love or hate shows like that, most hate it.
I’d rather have my car judged by someone who knows what they are looking at (other than the Edgerton show, but that’s another subject), but it doesn’t always work that way.
See you at Pardeeville!
circletrackParticipantThose are great pictures!! Thank you for sharing with us. The group I’m with decided to stick closer to home as one was “debuting” his Buick GS that’s still in the restoration process. It was a beautiful day for a show, I hope you found the Wisconsin shows to be welcoming

It didn’t look very promising at first but the weather cleared up and we had a great turn out. Congratulations to all of the forum members that won awards! We couldn’t do it without all of you and your great classic rides! As far as Mr. Chip Grell goes, I’m not going to stoop down to his level. I think the unprofessional way he has displayed himself on the forum so far speaks for itself. If he has a problem, he should come directly to us instead of blasting his negative comments to the public. I guess next year we could add a “Whiner Award”.
My dad loved classic cars and passed along this interest to me at a young age. I would much rather have my dad at the show with me. But since that is not possible, giving the Dan Tomas Memorial Trophy is one way for our family to honor his memory and spread his passion for old cars to others.
Again, thank you all for coming out to the show and for your kind comments. We look forward to seeing you all in Spring Green in 2012!
On behalf of the Road Apples ~ you are welcome!! We really enjoy this show, the drive in the morning, great atmosphere throughout the day and everything in between. I meant to tell you 3D was really good this year, not too overbearing and played some great music selections!
We’ll bring even more of the club next year, see you in 2012!
circletrackParticipantHi there, I haven’t been to this show in the past, and also plan on going Saturday. We have several friends that have gone the past few years and they have nothing but positive things to say about the show. I’m pretty sure it’s held on the grounds of the church and know the people putting on the show put a lot of effort into making it a great show.
I am not from the Janesville area either, but have never seen an example at ANY show where someone from outside the area isn’t welcome. My club puts on a show in June every year and I love to see cars that aren’t from right around the area and feel that way about any show I attend.
Hope to see you Saturday!
circletrackParticipantCar shows are very hard to plan and execute, and it sounds like you put lots of work into this show.
Todd is a friend and I’m sorry to say I see no ego, just a guy who enjoys cars, people and events that bring them together. The group he has is doing a great job with this show.
If nothing else, it’s possible you need to move on and put your efforts into another cause.
circletrackParticipantThank you for your comments, but looking at the classes there is no 1960-1970 muscle car listed, they have them broken because there are so many cars between 1960-1972 that qualify for many classes.
I’ve been going to this show since it’s been in the streets and I do not see this show shrinking, I see it growing even more in the next few years. If nothing else, it would be nice to have it condensed as judging can be difficult when you have to search through the main drag and all the side streets.
The reason they were down in numbers was the rain… no one wants to bring their cars out if bad weather is in the forecast. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see so many already there, a sign people really enjoy this show.
Best of luck to you.
circletrackParticipantA little rain?! It rained like heck on the east side, we waited it out for an hour or so and drove at least half the way there in the rain… Great day once we got there though! They had about 50 cars less than last year, which wasn’t bad at all considering how crummy the day started.
circletrackParticipantLooks like they took the rain out of the forecast… 79 and sun ~ perfect!!
circletrackParticipantWe will be there… hopefully the rain holds off!
