After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

I disagree. The experience is very different from using an iPod Touch because the screen is so much larger. The apps are not just “super-sized” iPod Touch apps but have a different and more sophisticated interface. The one thing they do share is Apple’s fantastic touch UI

Works great for me! I have a Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) laptop set up with a virtual XP machine using VMWare to run my Magic Jack through. Using Linux as the host operating system really works well since it allows me to remotely manage the computer (as well as save the state of the virtual windows machine) via SSH, VNC, and NX

In my opinion, the iPad will revolutionize the way almost everyone uses the computer. I wrote an article which describes this computer paradigm shift on my blog:
    http://andrewm.info/blog/13-2010/52-the-computer-paradigm-shift

    An excerpt:

    Quote:
In case you didn’t already know, the iPad will go on sale tomorrow. This event marks the beginning of the next great leap forward for computers. This shift takes computers from the “desktop” model of managing files, folders, and devices to a task-centric model which abstracts these things from the user. Many tech saavy people have been concerned and skeptical about the iPad exactly because of this reason, but I believe this is in fact why it is such an important shift. The plethora of positive reviews of the iPad as well as the sheer number of impressive and innovative apps already bode well for this new model.

If you feel like it, you might want to try Google Chrome – its javascript performance alone is at least an order of magnitude faster than IE8!! Moreover, Chrome was the only browser not hacked at this year’s pwn2own competition.

By the way, still using IE? No Firefox or Chrome?

I agree that healthcare costs are high, but the G involving themselves in private business is wrong. Anyone with healthcare thru a government job or the company they work for will see sharp increases in there premiums – higher than they are now.

How exactly are you concerned with the government getting involved? The bill that passed has no single payer or public option. The extent that the government gets involved is changing some laws which prevent insurance from dropping people for pre-existing conditions (etc), increasing subsidies to the poorest Americans who can’t afford healthcare, and creating insurance “exchanges” where if you don’t get your insurance through your employer, you can go through this “exchange” to find the best rate. There is no government-run healthcare option (like a public option) in the exchange, however.

Personally I think its about time that they did get involved with private business in the issue where insurers were dropping clients so they could make a profit and forcing those they dropped to either bankrupt from medical bills or die

Would concealed carry help reduce the crime rate by
    – threat that anyone else could be packing, so as to discourage would-be criminals
    OR
    – that more people would be carrying weapons and could play a sort of vigilante whenever a crime is taking place?

I’d like to try some shows I haven’t been to this coming season. Also, I think I’ll be sticking to shows closer to Madison rather than travelling farther away due to time constraints. I also want to really improve my photography and art at the shows and use some new photography equipment!

I agree – this is a great way to do it and sounds like it really makes it easy!
