Sounds good to me – so we’ll shoot for 1 in 3 to 1 in 5 but obviously there will be variability. In creating the classes we’ll try and make sure that Classes A, B, and C each have about that ratio
GaribaldiKeymasterEdgerton for me this week
GaribaldiKeymasterBeautiful photos! I love the shallow depth of field on the first few!
GaribaldiKeymasterIt seems the consensus is 1 trophy per 3 cars to 1 trophy per 5 cars. Does that sound like a good range for shows in order to give flexibility with the number of trophies on hand and variability of number of cars showing up? If so, I’ll start a motion to add it to the standard.
I agree with moparkid, “best of class” is all around better because of the flexibility

I agree that Special Interest means things other than Corvette, Mustang, etc, except maybe at Class C shows. Can a small show really support separate classes for Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, etc?

Quote:Yea. I agree the tuners should not only have there own class, but they are now popular enough that there class should be broken up from stock/modified along with year breakpoints for the classes up to present day.We have a majority vote so I’ve added Tuner classes to each Class Type since that seems to be the consensus. If we were to break up the tuner class by years, what would the year ranges be and should that only be in Class A or Class B?

Sorry I forgot to update the Current Text. It is now up-to-date. For the Street Rods classes, should this apply to only Class A shows since they are large and could support it?
GaribaldiKeymasterDo you think it would be appropriate for there to be a tuner class for Class A and Class B but let Class C shows have tuners fall in with Special Interest (since they’re small shows)?
GaribaldiKeymasterThis thread has sparked some great discussion and I hope we can continue it in the new forum section devoted to classes and judging standards:
http://www.wiscollectorcar.com/forum.html?func=showcat&catid=507GaribaldiKeymasterThe 1st draft of the WCC CJS has been published and is available on this page. Please submit your changes and suggestions.
GaribaldiKeymasterIt was a fun show with great weather and a nice location!
GaribaldiKeymasterNothing for me, I’ll be out of town this weekend. Let me know how Blanchardville is – hopefully not as hot!

Quote:We’re all pretty knowledgable about cars and car shows here…Perhaps we should create a judging standard that the local car shows could adopt. If you have ever seen the judging sheets from the Beaver Dam show, they are pretty solid..but even those could use some work. That’s a good idea! We could host it on a special page on the site as the WCC Judging Standard or something to that effect. Everyone could contribute their ideas and we could develop a consensus. Then shows could be free to adopt it if they want.
Lets keep discussing the ideas in this topic and I’ll work on a way to draft it and allow for changes/input.
One suggestion/question I have with ddhemi’s detailed and excellent outline – would it ever be a problem to have too many classes? E.g. at a show with 100 cars and 20 awards – 1 in every 5 cars is walking away from the show with an award. Should this ratio be lower or how would that consistency be maintained?
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Armory for me. Ive been in contact with the Sgt. putting on the show, and he’s really taking our feedback to heart and making changes where necessary, so it should be a really good show.I had a similar experience. The Sgt. putting on the show contacted me and said that he had read through all of the Rate The Show feedback from last year and they were trying to implement the suggestions for this year. Also, I told him about making a Rate The Show listing with the new format this year and he said they will definitely check it over and listen to the feedback people give. This is really nice to see a show so directly looking at participant feedback so if you attend this show and have comments be sure and leave them in the Rate The Show.
GaribaldiKeymasterHm… it doesn’t look familiar but if its been repainted…
