This weekend I am off to Chicago. This is the weekend for “Maxus” which is the national Nissan Maxima meet.
Someone posted photos of cars entering the Alliant Center

You know I thought I heard someone yell “Jon!” in Cross Plains, but I thought “no I musta been hearing things. I don’t know anyone in Cross Plains”.
I ended up meeting and walking around with a guy from the Green Bay area who came down as a spectator just to see the show. It is always nice to meet new people in the hobby. The Dyno (or honesty machine) was fun to watch. I saw a few cars that looked fast only pull sub-200hp numbers.

It was awesome. I will say that it is not a great way to enjoy the “old car hobby” but an awesome way to enjoy the car hobby no matter what you are into.
I met Ryan at the Lube at 10:30 this morning and we drove out to Richland Center had lunch and drove back to the Alliant Center. Very cool to see so many cars. Not many together but still cool. We would see groups of 4 or five at a time.
Then I paid my $25 to park inside. What a great event. So many different variety of cars. This is how all shows should be. No class segregation, no year limitations, just car people enjoying the hobby.
Ryan, what happened to you? I turned around at the Alliant Center entrance to go to the participant entrance and never saw you again. I looked for you and your car for a while and then started walking around.

I loved this last year, great group of guys and some beautiful cars. It is difficult for me now that I get home around 4:00am and have to be back at work for a 12 hour shift at 2pm.

Thanks Marshall. I figured enough has been said that should not have been and it all needs to be over. It is a perfect location and a great place. If it weren’t for the one person that made me quit (who obviously had a problem with me being there last night) I would still be happily working there. It was, by far, my favorite place to work. In fact if she ever leaves I would gladly go back.
I think the hardest part for me was explaining to people why I wasn’t working there without stirring up the drama (all I could say was that I left because I wasn’t happy) coupled with the numerous complaints I received from customers and employees about the same “her” that made me quit (All I could say was it doesn’t concern me).
I don’t know how often I will go to the Thursday night cruises at the Lube. But I will go a few more times…if they will let me.
That looks amazing. Just like Marshall’s center console, big improvement. And the best part is those improvements are ones that you notice while driving.
I just got home (have to leave for work in 10 min) and I want to say thank you to MATC for the morning. I think it was a good event and I hope us coming out was an attraction for the students that were visiting. It looked to me to be a great day for MATC and the potential students.
