LuxurylinersParticipant
Thanks for trying I wound up getting a hold of the organizer at the last minute…directed him to this site so hopefully they will post information for next years show prior to it actually happening.
LuxurylinersParticipantHappy to help, I think I got my flyer at the Reedsburg show but I’m not positive…I do beleive there were around 500 at Beaver Dam and it was quite a varied and impressive turnout…so nice to park under all the shade trees in the park there to.
LuxurylinersParticipantby custom 68-73 I actually meant Modified as is there wording
LuxurylinersParticipantlooks like you would be in the either stock 68-73 or custom 68-73 class depending on what M.O.P.A.R LTd decides to put you in (flyer says there rep will place your vehicle. Flyer also says there are 75 dash plaques, participant judging, door prizes, entry fee is $8 ($1 off for bringing in 2 cans of food for charity), foods available, 50+ craft vendor booths, show hours are 9am-3pm with awards at 2:30pm, show is in Downtown area…contact is Dave @ 608-692-8937…all makes all models cars and trucks…I’ll probably attend as well, hope that answers your questions
P.S. the swan city show had 500 dash plaques and I beleive they gave them all away
LuxurylinersParticipantthe beaver dam show had at least 400 cars if my recollection serves me…portage classes are:convertible, corvette & Mustang, and 20 other classes…If you let me know what you have I can try to place it for you if you want
LuxurylinersParticipantThey did drop the spectator entry fee to $5 to accomodate the lack of cars. As far as the rain goes I know they are particular about the vehicles that they admit to this show and they have that right; but when rain cuts participation in half and day-ofs are willing to pay to show, beggars can’t be choosers IMO
LuxurylinersParticipantI rolled up in the Caddy and was met at the gate by someone that said they were not accepting anything other than pre-registrered vehicles this year. Considering they anticipated and had space for 150 vehicles with only about 40 arriving due to the rain, and there was plenty of space left on the grounds, I would have thought they would welcome a day-of show entrant. I live 4 miles away so I snuck over without getting the car too dirty but it was still pretty annoying to be turned away despite Bothams own website saying that day ofs would be allowed while time and space permitted (the person I talked to on the phone 10 minutes before arriving apparently assumed I was pre-registered when I asked if they were still letting cars in at 11:00; check in was extended for the rain) A few pre-registered vehicles did arrive after I did and were let in so its not like they couldn’t have taken my $20 and run with it…oh well I guess but it really would have been nice to park next to that red 59 caddy for a photo op.
LuxurylinersParticipantddhemi the classes started at 1908-32, 33-40, 41-50,51-60, then nine year gaps all the way up to 81-90, then a class for 91-2010. 61-70 had additional classes for classics, classic modified, muscle stock, and muscle modified as well with two trophies per class. There was also a truck class, peoples choice, longest distance, best of show, and club participation
LuxurylinersParticipantI don’t beleive so my car is a 90 and was judged and some other 80 and newer cars won in class…I believe they judge to present.
LuxurylinersParticipantA dollar to vote for a car…should have taken that deal and voted for whatever car you liked anyway! …$10 to the first person who can find me a 2009 pardeeville dash plaque, there’s an even better deal.
LuxurylinersParticipantThank you moparkid25 for agreeing with me, I notice that a lot of shows have more awards for larger classes (the ?-to present class is usually one of them) but even so a further breakup 0f the class would shuffle awards around a bit. I’m also a fan of survivor or unrestored classes but some of those go back too far ex. “survivor 1980 and older” how many vehicles like that are there really? (maybe I would be surprised). It’s a tough call and I certainly don’t have all the right answers but I’m glad I’m not alone in thinking collector plates shouldn’t compete with vehicles just weened off of dealer plates (you like that lol)
LuxurylinersParticipantToo bad, looks like a nice Lincoln…bring a big umbrella
LuxurylinersParticipantLooks like I was a bit too late to make it to this post but Boscobel’s annual show is this weekend as well (just got off the phone with the contact for that)…having a hard time deciding between Boscobel and Verona but leaning toward Verona at this point.
LuxurylinersParticipantSO I just spoke with Ike’s wife and she confirmed a few things for me. The show is at Riverside park in Muscoda and is participant and spectator judged. The entrance fee is $7.00 and the show is held rain or shine. All vehicles are welcome and she suggested being there around 10:00 am to register and get situated.
LuxurylinersParticipantThanks for the warm welcome!
