Yea it would of been cool to have my car in a movie, especialy with the “A list” actors that were going to be in it.Hopefully they will still make it someday.
78cruisingwagonParticipantI was informed the movie will not be made, at least not at this time.I was looking forward to taking part in it. Here is the main reason why as told by Mike ;
” Back to stars being Attached to potential films: Hollywood’s a creative place with creative contracts. It’s fairly common for the star to get one fee to have their name associated with a film, another fee if the film is made with them in it, and still another fee if the film is made without them.
There are too many people attached to the project. They can’t afford to cast everyone attached, and they can’t afford to pay off those who wouldn’t be cast if they made the film.”
Kind of crazy how the film business works!
Mike is however looking for these cars right now, 1959-1962 plain-Jane four-doors. Ideally squad cars, if not, then bland, unmarked-esque ones.

78cruisingwagonParticipantI like going to the QSL in Middelton.Food is fine and service is good.I have been to a few cruise nights there and had a good time each time I went. I sit at the garage bar and have a beer and sandwich. They are always friendly to me, and food gets there fast.Mabe you caught someone on a bad night.
78cruisingwagonParticipantI am rebuilding my transmission and engine. I have the transmission, a C4, out and apart. Now all I have to do is get the parts and put it back together. After that I plan to pull the engine and rebuild it.Hope to have it all back together by the end of March in time for the car shows!
78cruisingwagonParticipantIf the HSR (its not really high speed) between Madison and Milwaukee were, really high speed , affordable, and self-supporting I would support it.I could drive there faster that the train, gas would have to be more than $7.50 per gallon (even in my evil SUV) to be cheaper given the stated $60 per round trip for the train. When it is faster ,cheaper and self supporting than driving id be for it.
78cruisingwagonParticipantso does this make Fiengold a piece of garbage, or Decker a ” maverick” ?
78cruisingwagonParticipantthey are in the minority for sure! but I saw about a dozen cars that fit that description at fall Jefferson.I have also seen several at car shows this summer.
78cruisingwagonParticipantHere is another part of an e-mail I recived from Mike reguarding this particular movie:
Yes, I’d be happy to get more ’70s. This production is looking to avoid red, black and white cars, as well as all muscle cars and I’d imagine convertibles. If possible. It’s not always possible, of course.
so for the most part they are looking for plain background cars that dont draw attenion.

78cruisingwagonParticipantI got a responce ever time I e-mailed or called him.I did meet with him to show hm my car first hand. Here is a e-mail that he sent me about listing cars with him,
I always tell people it’s a little like buying a lottery ticket. They may sign up with me and never get a call for a production — or I might call them next week. You just never know. I’ve long since stopped trying to guess the “creative” types are going to want next. What I do know is that if I don’t know about them and have pictures I can give those decision-makers, there’s no chance I’m going to call them.
Thanks again!

78cruisingwagonParticipantFavorite Show – Volo Toys for Tots Cruise.I did it the past two years,Great Fun!
Least Favorite Show -none
Most annoying trend at this year’s shows -“Pulling the plug” if the weather looks even a little iffy
Biggest disappointment this year -Seeing Soild Gold cruise night go downhill.
Best new trend at shows – I don t know I just started going last year.
Did you attend as many shows as the previous year? – More since my car is now completed.
Will you attend more or less shows next year? – More
Would you rather attend a cruise-in or a car show? – Cruise-in for sure.Nice way to spend an evening ,more relaxed, does not take entire day, no worrying about who gets awards.
What are your overall impressions of this year’s shows? Most were well run and fun!
