Yes thanks for bringing it back. I liked the ability to add photos to the rate the show.
Also, if you never attended a particular show, even though there may only be one person
who rated it previously, it still is nice to be able to get an opinion of the show.Blue55ChevyParticipantI found some one that is involved with a couple of local High School shows.
She took all the trophy’s and they will be reused. I kept a few specials, the
ones you questioned the judges eyesight and never thought your car deserved.I still go to shows. If they are not show only, I pay the registration and
put a sign in the window DISPLAY ONLY.I have no problem with people getting thrilled by the competition and
taking a trophy. We all remember the charge of getting our first one. But
eventually that thrill is gone. Hopefully buy that time people realize that
there are other things like the scenic drive to the show, The smiles, looks
and waves you get while driving through the small towns and country side. The
friends that your always glad to see and the new friendships to be made.I finally finish a car for my daughter and if her schedule permits we will be
doing some car shows together this summer. Hopefully she can take a trophy or two.Blue55ChevyParticipantMy interpretation has always been that this applied to the general public. When someone brings there car to display, they have
expenses that the general public does not. For some this can be extensive. I’ve always said “who else in entertainment pays to
entertain.” Pardeeville’s promoters have always expressed that this is a alcohol free show. I see no reason not to respect this
request and commend them for not promoting consumption at this event as many do.September 25, 2013 at 2:43 am in reply to: Ferrari lovers Flock to Neenah WI for restorations #41975Blue55ChevyParticipantMotion also has a building on Main St. in Neenah. Some years ago they bought out Blanchards Speed Shop formerly in
Medina, WI. and moved it to Neenah. It takes up part of the building and the other half is where the lower dollar resto’s
happen. The machine shop Is still called Blanchards. They updated all the machinery to state of the art. I started using
Blanchards in 1972, and still do for all my engine builds (they machine, I assemble). There prices are competitive, and
just like when Lynn Blanchard owned it, the shop is always spotless clean. If your looking for top notch equipment at a machine shop with people that know what they are doing, give them a call at
920 725-1266. They can handle any foreign or domestic need from a CNC’d one of billet aluminum hub for that high dollar
Ferrari to a bore and plateau hone job on your small block Chevy. They also sent my hood hinges and latch to Chicago,
to be replated just like the General used when he put my 55 together.Blue55ChevyParticipantVery nice photo’s, as were last years, Blown69RS, thanks for sharing them.
What are you using for a camera and does it take a rocket scientist to operate it.
Blue55ChevyParticipantIt’s nice to hear that the Partyville show was again a huge success. The promoters and volunteers do an incredible job and turnout reflects that. I sure would like to see more pictures. Thanks Amigo2k for the ones you posted.
As most of you know we chose not to attend primarily because of the entertainment. I just couldn’t handle the “entertainment” for the third show this year.
Hopefully thru this forum and word of mouth our disappointments get back to show promoters, so that this type of “entertainment” does not fester and contaminate other shows.
Blue55ChevyParticipantI’ve only attended this show once myself. I also thought the judging was very thorough. Do the club members still line up and wave to all the cars when they leave?
It always amazes me when I hear the numbers from the cruise the night before.
Blue55ChevyParticipantGood to hear that Dave is doing fine. When you get up there in years like some of us, every year there are some that went on to the big show and are missed.
Regardless of the reason for the DJ change the fact is that Sizzlin Sunny is a dud.
He turns on his computer and his routine is the same.Personaly, I like something that rocks early on while I detail my car which at larger shows can take hours. It makes detailing the car more enjoyable, and puts me in a better mood. I don’t need to hear music that came out in 1956, that wasn’t even good rock and roll when it came out.
I’ve only missed this show once in seven years and that was because of a family occasion that I couldn’t avoid. I’ve always thought Pardeeville was the nicest show in the state. Dave has been great and listened to what was said on this site. Those that do go will be in for a “real treat”. Me? I don’t know. Might just save myself the agony and $100 at the same time.
Perhaps members on this site should put a guideline list together of songs they enjoy that are acceptable car show music. It might take some time but could be very useful to Dj’s to create a playlist from.
Promoters so often only have to listen to those “cutzie” songs one show a year.
But some of us hard cores take in 30 plus shows a year. They have no idea what its like to listen to crap show after show.July 1, 2013 at 4:16 am in reply to: Central Wisconsin Auto Collectors 32nd Annual Benefit Car Show & Swap meet/Flea Market #41703Blue55ChevyParticipantIt’s a real nice park and usually the awards went very smoothly. I’m sure the promoters were only trying to improve the show by letting others see the car and owner receive there awards.
But like I said, the layout has to be nearly perfect for this to be pulled off smoothly.Blue55ChevyParticipantMoroso also sells wires with “high temp boots”. They have a silver color to them. I had them on my old heads (straight plugs) and didn’t have any issues. My new mill has angle plug heads which gave me plenty of clearance.
Blue55ChevyParticipantThere were about to 300 cars at Omro this year. Windy, Mist, drizzle, and then rain about 12:30. When it started raining hard, we packed up and left. We weren’t prepared for the weather. I should have checked out the radar myself, instead I trusted the weather weasels with there weather prediction. We werent the only ones that weren’t prepared.
This was the second year that it rained and shortened the show. You can’t blame people for leaving when bad weather comes up.
Blue55ChevyParticipantWe hit this show on the way to Beloit about 4 years ago. It was a nice show back then and from the looks of the pictures, it still draws nice vehicles. Congrats to the winning site regulars that were mentioned above. Maybe we’ll catch some of you at Oxford in a few weeks.
Blue55ChevyParticipantNice photo’s. Looks like I need to head south for this one next year. Thanks for posting them.
Blue55ChevyParticipantNice pictures of the cars. So that’s what green grass looks like. Been some time this year since I was at a show with green grass.
Blue55ChevyParticipantWelcome to the site 66. Nice car.
