Steve & I were judges today, so I can’t comment on too much other than the music… I heard music I’ve never heard at car shows before and don’t expect to again anytime soon. It was different, that’s for sure, but I don’t think it was that terrible. He did a good job of keeping everyone entertained and worked hard with the kids, something you don’t see, he also played a very wide variety of music that I’m sure pleased several of the older crowd. It was a good show, I don’t know the final count but know it was over 750.
circletrackParticipantThe 50 minute silence… that was the judges meeting – you are welcome
circletrackParticipantHeading to Pardeeville bright and early – Steve & I will be judging the Corvettes again along with helping in other areas during the day. Fingers and toes crossed it’s not 100 degrees, see you there!
circletrackParticipantNice pics, cool awards!
circletrackParticipantThink it’s the VFW for me too, nice and close to home
circletrackParticipantDon’t really have anything to add that hasn’t already been said, it was a picture perfect day for a car show, the staff handled it like pros and I think everyone was pretty happy. I would add that tweaking some of the classes would help a bit, I’ve always said winning at any show is a bonus, but when you have classes with almost 90 cars in them, it’s darn near impossible to pick your favorites and as participants it’s discouraging to hear 5 awards or less given away in classes that big. Otherwise, keep up the great work – a very relaxing day, many cars we don’t normally see, we’ll see you next year!
circletrackParticipantWhew! There are you are! Good to see you again!
circletrackParticipantMy thoughts exactly, they can’t fit the cars from Automotion in anywhere, let alone how many more?
circletrackParticipantUp bright and early to head to Spring Green… hoping the weather cooperates!
circletrackParticipantI wouldn’t say popular enough, more like a car show for your friends. It’s a nice show, just odd when your friends show up after judging is done (it’s participant judged) and get an award?
circletrackParticipantIsn’t the Watertown Riverfest show this weekend?
The last couple years have been tough for this show with new promoters – I’ll never forget them giving the best of show away… “We’ve known this kid since he was in diapers”. Never, ever say something like that when giving away a big award, or any award.
circletrackParticipantInteresting… I’ve heard lots of DJ’s over the years and still prefer those who prefer to be seen and not heard – play a wide range of music, talk when you need to, and try not to annoy everyone all day.
circletrackParticipantWow, nothing kills a show with stuff like this. I’m sure the weather had something to do with the low counts (it looked like rain almost all day in the Madison area until late afternoon), do they have someone new running the show? It’s been a great show in the past, hopefully they can take some constructive criticism and turn things around.
circletrackParticipantIt’s not cheating until you get caught – some are just better at it than others. Braun has cooked his own goose, his career is pretty much over.
I don’t know how anyone can really afford to attend professional events anymore, the average family has been priced right out of their seats, sad.
circletrackParticipantSentry is lucky it lasted this long, it’s been years since I was in that store. I remember that being the only store in town when I was a kid – times have changed.
