circletrackParticipant
Have they talked to the Dells about this? After Automotion this year I can’t imagine they’re too thrilled with any thing car related , would be cool though!
circletrackParticipantNot an ideal car show day… not a fan of hot or cold, but this cold streak really sucks
circletrackParticipantThe Fire Department no longer wanted to do the car show, it’s turned into more of a community event. Years ago it was a great show, it takes a lot of work to put on a show every year, bummer this one ended
circletrackParticipantThe show outside the show caused lots of problems this year… Saturday night was especially bad with lots of police & ambulance calls. The hotel next to us was trashed this morning, and I heard several others had problems. We all support this hobby, but there comes a time when you need to use common sense and realize your actions can shut down an entire event. A kid from Milwaukee that was staying at our hotel lost his license last night after getting pulled over for the 3rd time in a few hours, really? Someone did donuts in the middle of the road last night, we heard the cheering, it was an interesting night.
The parking was not an issue, it took a bit longer to get in on Saturday, they did not open the gates until 7, so if you were in line before then – you had to wait, which I understand. We didn’t have a problem leaving either, the streets were PACKED yesterday afternoon, so it took extra time to get up/down the strip, but that was also expected. We left early today due to the weather, I’m curious to see what happens given the actions of others.
Saw some beautiful cars from several states, the covered wagon was really cool – a lot of work and thought was put into that. This show really has something for everyone.
circletrackParticipantThose fines increase every year.. as long as everyone behaves there shouldn’t be any problems, right?
circletrackParticipantMinus the cold and wind, very nice show. These kids and their instructor(s) worked hard to put on the show.
circletrackParticipantWe have a group heading up Friday afternoon, always look forward to the weekend.
I also hope the weather forecast changes, getting real tired of the 30 degree swings we’re going through
circletrackParticipantNew Mustang anyone?
circletrackParticipantVery cold and windy this morning at MATC… We left early, had enough of the wind
circletrackParticipantI think we’re going to support the MATC show… weather permitting
circletrackParticipantNice pic of your car!
circletrackParticipantI found you!
circletrackParticipantWe were there yesterday too, Steve sold both days… had a great time, the weather is just perfect – I imagine it’s a money making weekend
Saw lots of interesting stuff, and lots of junk – normal Jefferson!
circletrackParticipantThank you for your observations… as for the Road Apples show, the British class has been part of our show for years, it was not added at the last minute, we encourage everyone to be in the right class and even tell people they are in the wrong class (there really are people out there that don’t know they are in wrong class), we won’t be doing that this year… everyone gets judged in the class they choose to be in. I have not attended the Edgerton show for the last couple years and have been perfectly happy with Spring Green… I attend shows to be with friends and family, and have always said it’s a bonus to walk away with an award that ultimately collects dust, everyone should remember that.

I think that that these 2 classes have enough entrants to allow them to have there own separate class.Maybe change some of the year classes or combine some of the more obsolete classes to make room for the newer cars and trucks which are growing in popularity with the newer generation of car show people. How fair is it for me to put my highly modified truck in a class that includes vehicles that are pretty much stock. Then you have judges who prefer a certain brand of vehicle and judge there class according to their own tastes and not on the merit of the vehicles in that particular class. Its seems that with this show nothing has changed and I see it possibly suffering in the years to come, they cater to the old school car people but really do nothing for the up and coming crowd who are showing newer vehicles. You have no idea how much thought and work is put into this show. A show this big will never make everyone happy, but they work hard at trying. It’s very unfair to pick on judges at any show, unless you’ve done it and realize how hard it is – you give up your entire day to VOLUNTEER to help someone else, and rarely get any thanks for it, more than likely just the opposite. I don’t like to discourage anyone from attending shows, but maybe it’s best you skip this one and find another show that suits your needs better?
