circletrackParticipant
That’s funny you say that because the guy with the ’73 Chevelle that’s like a cow crap brown won (he does cartwheels when he wins, just weird), and I couldn’t figure out why someone would vote for that car when there were much, much nicer cars there. Oh well, live and learn!
circletrackParticipantWe are thinking of going to Nekoosa on Sunday, has anyone been to that show?
circletrackParticipantIt’s Jefferson weekend.. did you expect anything else?
circletrackParticipantI submitted my review like everyone else did, those are my thoughts. The club did a great job, I also said I enjoyed the day and it was a good show, you must have missed that part.
Judging is a big deal, I know it is a lot of work. I attend several shows and know that many prefer to have their cars judged fairly, not just by the color, make or model. I also don’t appreciate being called a trophy hound. Winning awards is very nice THE day of the show when you are surrounded by your peers, after that the awards collect dust, anyone can agree with me on that. I never, ever expect to win an award, the quality of cars has increased so much you never know what you’re going to see from one show to the next, which is a great thing.
We all should consider ourselves lucky there are so many shows in the area, most often several to choose from. I attend shows to enjoy the day with my friends and family, winning is a bonus.
I have never paid $2 for a can of soda at a show, and never will.
You possibly need to attend more shows to give an accurate review.
circletrackParticipantWe drove our street cars today and walked through the swap a couple times, finding good deals. I think most of the guys were more than happy to unload some of their stuff today in the crappy weather. The car corral was practically non-existent, less than 100 cars. All in all a very cruddy day. We didn’t stay for awards, I’ve been told they either judge you as you drive in, or the parking guys do the judging as they are parking you and come back later if they see something award worthy.
We go mainly for the swap, hopefully the weather cooperates next year, I’m sure they took a big hit today.
circletrackParticipantMe either!
circletrackParticipantNothing for me this weekend, Steve will be at Jefferson all weekend with friends and I’ll be at the race track!
Hoping it’s a great weekend for weather, today at Beloit really sucked!
circletrackParticipantBig Blue Truck.. I voted for you! Nice truck!
circletrackParticipantAs long as best of show doesn’t go to something I can see at my local dealership ~ everyone should be happy!
When shows are judged properly, there should not be issues with nice originals or anything like that. Every car should be judged fairly, also taking into consideration the make, model and year.
circletrackParticipantWow… what some people will do for an award?
I also think the “biker mama” from 3D is long gone after multiple complaints about her, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen her. Sounds like a show to cross off the calendar.
circletrackParticipantWow, lots of shows this weekend.
I think we’ll head to Waunakee too… Ryan ~ looking forward to seeing your new ride!
circletrackParticipantThey used to hold it in the park where the carousel (not sure if it’s there anymore) was, and that seemed to be a good location. You would think they’d want the show tied into everything else? Looked like a nice show!
circletrackParticipantThat is a very nice show, the museum is great too!
circletrackParticipantOh yes… I’ve been called “Rachelle” all weekend long
circletrackParticipantI think we’re going to stay home this weekend.. need to get things done around home!
The Waterloo show was good in years past when it was held at the park.
