Wow that sounds fantastic! Such a huge turnout and as I can see a really nice variety of cars. This happens once a month?
GaribaldiKeymasterWelcome to the forum! I hope you find the site useful and let us know if you have any questions or comments. We have a lot of knowledgeable members on the site who can tell you which shows they like in Wisconsin. I also like Spring Green and Pardeeville, which were already mentioned. The Beloit Autorama show is also very good – over 1000 cars.
We have a couple places you can look for show reviews. The best place is Rate The Show. This is where members post their ratings and reviews of shows. We have a new Rate The Show system this year and in previous years we have Rate The Show topics which can be found here or by using the search function on the forum. Moreover, if you’re looking to see what a show looks like in terms of location and attendance, the http://www.wiscollectorcar.com/photogallery/index.php]Photo Gallery has photos from many shows. I hope this helps and welcome!
GaribaldiKeymasterI’ve update the rules page. I’ve renamed it to “Forum Guidelines” because I don’t think that there is a definitive cutoff of what is appropriate. For instance, if two friends want to joke with each other on the forum then it is not an attack. I want the forum to be a place where everyone feels welcome. I think the best way to look at it is ask yourself if you’d feel comfortable saying what you’re posting to the person’s face. If that’s the case, then the post is probably just fine. Please take a look at the changes and let us know what you think.
I encourage everyone who is reading the forum as a guest to register an account. It is easy and we’d really enjoy having more faces here in our discussions. I think everyone on the forum will agree with me that the more the merrier and we welcome everyone. If you still have any personal concerns, once you register you can contact me via Private Message and we can work to address them.
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:The only rule that I challenge is the removal of a members post without there knowing. My recommendation on this would be to first discuss the nature of the post with that memberThis is certainly a valid concern and I can see how that text is ambiguous. The key is prior warning. If a post is offensive, it may be necessary to remove it right away and not wait for the user to come back online and change it. We’re finalizing the structure now for dealing with these types of issues so once its set I’ll make another post with more details. Sound good?
GaribaldiKeymasterQSL for me and gone on the weekend so no show. If I were going probably Montello

Quote:Pics look like this show had a heavy european influence…It does – you definitely see a lot more “specialty” cars here, especially european. Its too bad those cars don’t make it to more of the shows during the summer
GaribaldiKeymasterI agree that having the gas option is nice but for just driving to work and back in the city this would work well I would think
GaribaldiKeymasterThat truck would make a nice HDR!

GaribaldiKeymasterYay for me too. We now have a majority. I have updated the official standard.

What should a show do if they can’t get people to judge? If they shouldn’t turn to participant, what would be a good solution?
GaribaldiKeymasterProbably nothing for me this weekend as I’ll be out of town
GaribaldiKeymasterIt seems to me that would be the fairest thing to do – have a points cutoff and cars that meet the cutoff get the award. If there end up being extra trophies from other classes, then a class with more than 3 cars over said point cutoff could get awards.
As far as how many awards per class – I can see both sides. I think, however, if you did a points system like that it would be okay to give more than 3 in a class in extenuating circumstances like a class that is much larger than originally planned for (and larger relative to the other classes at the show). In this case, you can’t change the class because the cars are already in it but you can give more awards to it (if available) to recognize more cars in that larger class
GaribaldiKeymasterI guess its also a factor about how you weight each specific model as well because if you were to divide corvettes up into c2, c3, etc, would you have to do something similar with mustangs (e.g. mustang, mustang II, mach1s, new mustangs)? I’m trying to think of a class structure for these models which could be applied evenly to all of them (corvette, mustang, camaro, etc)
GaribaldiKeymasterWelcome to the forum som2002! Thanks for the info as well
