Amazing that the only comments from 67GTO are political in nature.
lordairgtarParticipantI got a couple of model cars 👿 a Drag-ula and a 40 Ford plus tix to see the Glen Campbell farewell tour show.
lordairgtarParticipantI’m well past the 18 – 25 age demographic, but my first show car was an 83 mercury Marquis Brougham station wagon, and my current car is a year old HHR Panel with custom pin stripping. Much as I love the older cars, I can’t afford, nor do I have the space to store one in. Keep on loving that K car. Historically, they were an important era for the US and Chrysler and may have saved the company. I used to own an 84 Charger. You never see those anywhere anymore. As far as the loud car stereo systems go, not everyone may be into your taste of music. Plus if a show provides entertainment, keep the thing turned off or as low as only you can hear it.
lordairgtarParticipantChevy has guidelines for removing the risk of fire after a collision. They even have regional response teams to come and remove the battery pack. NHTSA did not follow the guidelines. No fault of NHTSA because they were not aware of the procedure. I would suspect the Volt is as safe as any other car. I was at a small demonstration of the car a couple of months ago.
lordairgtarParticipantAccording to the article, it is legal. Is it ethical? Not really. My thoughts on this is they should close up this loop hole. Hopefully, the Stock Act will move through. If these pols wish to earn points with their constituents, they would do well to support this. From what I see this practice is happening on both sides of the aisle, so it’s not a Dem or GOP thing.
lordairgtarParticipantDynacorn sells the bodies, aren’t they made in China?
lordairgtarParticipantI’m DJing the South Shore YMCA show this Saturday. If you all can make it to the Milwaukee area, stop in and say Howdy! Sunday will be either West Allis or Nekoosa.
lordairgtarParticipantThanks for the nice review of my DJing, people.
lordairgtarParticipantLooking forward to Waunakee, then to Beloit on Sunday.
lordairgtarParticipantI think the show can only get bigger. So many things to see and do during the day. I was there years ago as an artist drawing cars. I knew then that this show ws special. Unfortunately for me, I haven’t been there for some time due to other commitments. Hope to make it back someday.
lordairgtarParticipantI’ll be going to Symco on Saturday. Not driving, I’ll be taking the tour bus from Waukesha County. I will have my artist supplies with me hoping to draw a couple of the cars there.
lordairgtarParticipant*QUOTE*I will applaud the dj for setting up the speakers where you could hear them throughout the park, a night and day change from the Motors and Music show in the same location a few weeks ago in terms of being able to hear music and announcements.*QUOTE*
Thank you! One of the biggest problems to DJing an outdoor event is the placement of speakers for optimum sound carry. Even with the technical glitch I had with a broken connector (I carry extra connectors and a soldering gun for this), I am happy that the sound went where it was supposed to go. Some venues are hard to set up for sound. Looking forward to next year!lordairgtarParticipantThanks for the nice words about my DJing. About the trivia, I took my questions from a web site that has these questions you can answer. We’ve seen them posted. The words were verbatim from the site and the site included a pic with a Wildcat 455 labeled air cleaner housing. I can not take all the credit for all the tunes this time, Aaron provided an iPod with a selection of music including Enter Sandman. Most was my own however. That iPod helped me a lot. BTW, I think I only played three songs from the big band era and I had people swaying to most of the music. A woman older than I complimented me on the selections, including the Metallica tune. Looking forward to next year!
lordairgtarParticipantI really enjoyed myself at this one. Having to share space with a band meant I could roam around and look at the cars more closely. One of the very nice things this club did, in cooperation with the Auto Modellers Group (model car club) was helping a club member out with his Rolls VW. Steve has a lot of serious health issues and we pooled our money to have the grille on his Rolls Bug replaced with a nice stainless steel unit. It was hand made by a local metal worker. He was not aware of the switheroo going on but he was quite pleased and also quite speechless at the outcome. These are the kind of people in these two clubs. Steve is a member of both MAVWC and AMG.
