See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Yeah, I know, the same thing happened to me. It is just way too easy to get this one confused with a local show.

The annual car show in Cambridge, Wi will be Labor Day and that is the Lake Ripley show that has been around for alot of years.

Our closest show tomorrow would be the Father Marquette Days show in Montello.

You and GTO man weren’t the only ones confused, I make 3. I got looking at the pic’s from the posted link and thought “Ive never heard of a GM dealership in Cambridge…” I had to call a friend who lives that way and ask, she says “there’s no car show here saturday!”

As for the goodguys show, I hope a lot of them cars are watertight! As I post here, I’m looking out the window and watch the down pour! I went down to East Wash last night, but only made it a block before I ran into a few friends hanging out at Don Miller. That’s about as far as I got, and saw some cool stuff cruising around!

I have a flyer for the 5th annual Cambridge show on Saturday. I am planning on going to the GoodGuys show on Friday, and showing my car in Cambridge on Saturday (weather permitting).

You got some info on that Cambridge show? I might be inclined to attend that one. PM me with it, or if you could post some info here.

    Thanks!!

I’m not real pleased when I found out it will cost almost $20 just to get into goodguys as a spectator, therefore I’ve decided not to attend. However, Friday after work I’ll be going to Zurbachen’s in Verona and buying as much 109 Sunoco race fuel I can fit in my cans!

I’m optimistic that the night cruising scene will be better than the show thumbsup.gif

I found this a little odd, too. It seems for most of the awards they gave away the presenter had a story about them…. 10 years ago I drove him up to …. 30 years ago I remember he was building the truck …. so on ….

It might be better if it was just a show and shine, and put some of the fee (5 bucks) toward door prizes (like the show in Deforest).

Sounds like I didn’t miss much. Like Ryan, I woke up and looked outside. I was too hung over from the previous night and decided to stay home and sleep instead dontknow.gif

However, I don’t feel you should have to pay a fee for a show and shine, instead I like the idea’s of donating a non-perishable food item and have local business’ sponsor door prizes, such as gift certificates to there stores, etc.

The more I go to shows lately, the less I care about winning. I wish more shows were just ‘show and shine’.

Didn’t make it again last night, had to go to grandma’s. You could say I’m a bit of a “grandma’s boy” Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

Hopefully next week I’ll be there

Does anyone have any info on the cruise nights at the A&W in Lodi, the one right at the HWY 60 exit on I90-94?

As for the weekend shows, I’m supposed to have my car on display for the music festival in Monroe, but if it’s going to be hot I say F-that. After Blanchardville, I’m not gonna sit out all day when it’s muggy. icon_vomit1.gif

    Specific Ratings (A-F):

Entertainment – D ~ The announcer from 3D, or whatever it’s called is annoying, and seems to enjoy hearing herself talk. I find her style of entertainment not my style and heard complaints from many around me today. The selection of music played was different (when she wasn’t talking during the songs, or stopping the music half way through)

Sounds like the DJ there must have been the same battleaxe that was in Monroe last month. If so, I can’t believe that no one has complained to Dave Palmer about her yet.

    Rate The Cruise Night:
Accessibility (easy to get to):A, even though almost every road around me has a detour.
Parking Location: B, like GTO man, there were very few spots left when I got there.
    Entertainment: B, typical DJ
    Food: n/a
Prizes: A, the guys from Blue Chip voted my car as there pick of the night!
    Timing (day/hours): B, works well
Variety of Cars (week-to-week): A, there’s always something different.
Suggestions: the Hybridfest was cool if your into that kinda thing, but those parking spaces could have benefited cool cars.

I plan on going to Edgerton. There is allot going on there with that festival. How many cars usually turn out at Reedsburg?[/

I don’t remember how many for sure last year, but it was a decent amount. Nice stuff too, and being up that way you see alot of cars you don’t see at the show around here!!

I drove thru it, nowhere to stop until Loganville. By that point it was over. The only battle scar was one small chip of paint out of the door, no dents whatsoever.

I like the Reedsburg show. I went there last year, got soaked in a downpour, then driving home got caught in a hail storm and survived, only to run out of oil pressure on my way home… crybaby2.gif

Hopefully I’ll have better luck this year dontknow.gif

I’ve got some pic’s I took at this show but don’t know how to upload them. The coolest car I saw was the ‘Mod Top’ Barracuda! It’s the only Mod Top car I’ve ever seen in person!!!
