Very nice photos Ryan. Thanks for posting them. Imperial Palace has had a classic car collection for quite some time. They always have cars for sale on the internet, through various “for sale” web sites. It’s been my experience that most of their cars are overpriced, but they do have a very broad selection – something for everyone (any VWs Ryan?). Looks like it would be fun to check out if you’re in Vegas…
RivFanParticipantNo doubt the record needed to be set straight on this one. Well done ddhemi. Fastest production car built in 1987? Buick GNX. Coveted by collectors today. Corvette haters take your best shot at the ZR1. It’s the definition of “world class.”

I don’t like new cars mixed in with cars that are clearly special interest, I’d love to see that clarified at some of the shows we’ve attended this year.I’m guessing that the “monster” radio flyer wagon seen at this show every year would qualify as special interest…

This has been a very good, informative and fun board through the years and it’s unfortunate you have to have “rules” for adults that clearly should be able to voice their opinions. There are over 2500 users here, and we see maybe 25 of them, really the same 15-20 on a regular basis and a few of us know each other quite well.Yes, not everyone agrees with everything someone else does or says, but it’s time to get over it. If you’re reading our reviews/opinions of shows, cruise nights and automotive events we took the time to attend, and feel differently ~ don’t be a “lurker” or guest… log in like everyone else does and make your feelings known. I’ve learned a lot through the years on this board, isn’t that what the Martin’s set it up for?
Quite often when I log in, there are at least 10-15 guests but no posts from any of them. Don’t complain to someone else if you just read the posts. These things happen on other forums and throughout life.
Well stated circletrack. I agree.
RivFanParticipantBotham for me too. Right in my backyard…

RivFanParticipantHeading up to Wisconsin Rapids for their Saturday night cruise and Sunday car show. It looks like all the rain will have moved on by the time we have to leave…

Is this where you were coming from when I passed you on 18-151 last Saturday night?
Yep, it sure was.

You get 10 cars in a class, 3 drive away with awards.I like the “best of class” format with awards over the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. This helps keep some mystery to the judging results in classes. And if your award just says Best of Class, they can be moved around for larger classes where 4 or 5 awards are given. Giving more than 5 awards per class is overkill.
Participant judging should be outlawed, its nothing more than a popularity contest. Cars that don’t deserve an award take hardware home over cars that do deserve recognition.
This may be your best statement ever. Nice work
I personally like moparkid25’s bashing of Madison liberals as some of his “best” (or at least most entertaining) statements, but I can agree with this position…

Couldn’t agree more. This show has a great setting, always a nice assortment of cars, and is very well run. See you there!
RivFanParticipantJust givin’ ya a hard time. Respect to all VW lovers…
RivFanParticipantHey Ryan – just out of curiosity does the VW have enough “power” for the power tour – LOL?

Quote:One question…Why do Corvette owners always show to car events and think there is something special about their bone-stock, store-bought, Crayola Crayon, cars?Question for Corvette owners…When you park at a show with multiple Corvettes, what sets yours apart from everyone else? What is unique about your car that makes me want to see it?
Sorry..had to vent.
Jon:
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but as a virtually “bone stock” C5 Corvette owner, I do not share your view. What makes Corvette unique is that it is an American Icon, a symbol of the best America has to offer. Today’s “store-bought, crayola crayon, bone-stock” Corvette is a collector vehicle the minute it leaves the showroom floor. It will be collectible in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years and 50 years. Which is something that most Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas will not be – even a “pimped out” white one. Those vehicles are something that the Corvette will never be however – a modern day transportation appliance.
Your rant smacks of a bit of jealousy and a preference for modified cars vs. factory stock. I can live with that, we all have our personal tastes. As for parking together at cruise-ins, etc. Corvette owners feel a certain pride and share a bond as stewards of America’s premier sportscar. It is not an “I’m better than you” type of attitude, but more of a “birds of a feather flock together” kind of thing. Much like Harley-Davidson owners do. If you owned one, you would understand.
We all have our likes and dislikes within the car hobby, but the one thing we share is a passion for cars. I think it’s great that a group of Ferrari, Corvette, Nissan and VW owners all get together for coffee on a Sunday morning and share their passion with each other and the public – no matter where they choose to park or how they choose to display their cars…
…Sorry, just my opinion and my turn to vent.
