It was cool to see the book I made for car shows sitting on the front seat:

Amigo2kModeratorSold for 38k … I would of never guessed it would of gone that high …
Amigo2kModeratorSaturday 1:50 …
This is the worst time of yr to try to sell a car …
Amigo2kModeratorIt looks like my GTO is going across the block …
I can see the sticker in the window and the sticker in the door that I put on the wrong way …

Amigo2kModeratorA lot of the cars they show, were purchased in 2005-2007 … which was at the height of the market …
The marketing concept, of someone buying a Ron Pratte car, I really don’t think that will affect it much at all.
Also he has several Boyd Codington cars, and the couple that have sold in the past 12 months sell at numbers way cheaper then what it would of cost to build (even if some no-name shop built them).
I think the best part of all of this is that the show is now on the Velocity Channel.
Amigo2kModeratorsome interesting facts …
over 100 cars will be for sale.
over 1400 pieces of automobile memorabilia including 104 porcelain signs with neon, many are new old stock.
Ron’s first job was working at a gas station
Ron’s first business he bought at the age of 21 was a gas station

Amigo2kModeratorthey do a little of everything … they actively post photos/videos facebook on what they are working on and in many cases provide a little history lesson on the cars too …
Amigo2kModeratorYup it sold for 33.5k …
I spoke to a guy that I know that had 2 cars in the auction … it was his first time selling with Mecum and he mentioned that they have 250 Mecum employees at the auction to make everything work smoothly …
Amigo2kModeratorHellcat No. 001 sells for 825K…
https://autos.yahoo.com/news/very-first-dodge-challenger-hellcat-sells-mind-boggling-143001505.html
Amigo2kModeratorhere’s to hoping they keep it on one channel … The Velocity channel viewership has gone up each month for the past 47 months…
Amigo2kModeratorI started the year out at Mecum Kissammee … Nothing like seeing 3000 cars in an entire different part of the country …
Then it was the exciting yet emotional time of selling my GTO, and then a couple of weeks later picking up the next car on my bucket list.
I attended fewer shows this year but the ones that did stick out for me was Vintage TorqueFest in Iowa …
This show has it all … +700 cars, bands, swap meet, cars on the track, and only a couple of custom made trophies … and it is all for a good cause … this show is not about trailer queens, and is not for folks looking to add another plastic trophy to their trophy room.
and a close second would have to be the hot rod power tour … again thousands of cars from all over the nation … all with the same passion … driving and enjoying their cars and not worrying about some plastic trophy from Boogerville, WI.
and I’m closing out the season next week at Mecum Chicago … I have a friend that details many of Dana Mecum’s collection that is going to try to get us a couple of minutes with the man himself … Dana …
Next year I’m thinking about starting out the season at the Amelia Concours d’Elegance … It is great to meet and speak with others from around the nation that have the same passion that we do …
Then I would like to complete a couple legs of the Hot Rod Power Tour with my Dad …
