Both Miller and Sons grocery stores (Mt Horeb & Verona) are having shows, and the new Advance Auto Parts in Verona is also having a show that day.
Where is this new Advance Auto Parts store located?

D.DawgParticipantI love the ’50 Merc, but is the asking price ($21,000) way, way off the mark? Seems to me, this project car would be worth about 5K to 6K. Am I missing something here?
D.DawgParticipantI, too, was curious about a possible GoodGuys event in Wisconsin for 2014. I sent emails to our two GoodGuys rodders reps here in Wisconsin, as well as one to the editor of the GoodGuys Gazette.
None of these three answered or responded to my email. Seems like GoodGuys is a little neglectful when it comes to responding to member’s questions.
Des Moines is a little closer than Indianapolis, so it looks like it will be Des Moines for me in 2014.

They also have a place in Ohio, and Ive seen former local cars listed on the RK website. The guys name is Justin Cole and the business was called Benchmark Classics. Last I heard, Justin was working as a real estate agent, but that’s been several years back. Don’t know if he’s even still around this area.
I have always wondered what became of the Tucker convertible that he had.

I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my Labrador Retriever and was
in line to check out.A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I
probably shouldn’t because I’d ended up in the hospital last time, but that I’d
lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out
of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works
is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two
every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was
going to try it again.I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now
enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her.Horrified, the woman asked if I’d been poisoned by the dog food and was that why
I was in the hospital.I said no…..I’d been sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me.
I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.
D.DawgParticipantHere’s another version regarding the “first Mustang”-=

With 750 cars/trucks at this years show, I would think that some of the classes were rather large. Did they hand out more than 3 awards in some of the larger classes?
D.DawgParticipantAmigo2k wrote:The only thing I found online is that the Belleville Board okay’ed the car show for 2013 in some meeting minutes …I went to Belleville yesterday and checked in with Francois Ford. They found a flyer for this year’s show, which is Sunday. I also got a name and telephone number from the flyer and called and confirmed that the show is Sunday, starting at 11AM. If you want a good shady spot in the park, plan to arrive early, as much as an hour.
I also learned that about the only way to get a flyer is to attend the show this year and you will be on the next years mailing list. This show is popular enough that they don’t need to hand out flyers at other shows. Also, this show is always held in conjunction with the Belleville Community Picnic (chicken barbeque hosted by the Lions Club).
Be aware that Highway PB is shut down in the Paoli area for construction and not passable. I would suggest Highway D, running South to Belleville or Highway 69 to Belleville as alternate routes.
D.DawgParticipantmaddog wrote:The Belleville show is on Sunday. How does one go about getting a flyer for this show, or getting on the organizer’s mailing list?
D.DawgParticipantIs it possible that the Belleville show is on Sunday, and not Saturday?
D.DawgParticipantI wonder why, at this late hour, Dave Palmer (3D Sound) is out and somebody new and untested is in?
It makes no difference to me. I won’t participate in this show, due to other issues that have previously been discussed on this forum.
D.DawgParticipantWhere do I begin?
This years show was nothing like the past 11 years shows at Fox Lake. The car count was way down from about 600 cars (normally) to about 300 cars this year. Weather could have been a factor (it was chilly and cloudy all day) or it could have been the change to not allow any new or newer cars in this show. Or, were there issues last year that have not been forgotten?
The awards, although early by about 30 minutes, was an absolute joke, just plain terrible. The announcer needs to go back to school and get some public speaking training. There were no introductions or explanations or lead-ins, just him and his flat, monotone, boring and disinterested voice calling out names and numbers. Then, the speakers were pointed away, so that it was hard to hear. There were gaps or quiet periods where it appeared the announcer was confused or simply forgot where he was or what he was doing.
My biggest criticism is giving multiple awards to vehicles and there were about 4 vehicles, or more, that received multiple awards. It is simply not right to give a Best In Class Award and Best Paint or Best Motor or Best Interior to the same vehicle. Other participants around me noticed this and expressed their displeasure.I will pass on this show next year.
