See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

I honestly think the policy of collector plates needs to be revisited…

I thought there were “rules” or guidelines to receiving collectors plates? Like
    1) had to be 2nd car
    2) could only be driven 11 month of year (no January)
    3) at least 20 years old

I wonder how many of these “2nd cars” are not collected but driven and looking for cheap plate option? Many seem to be daily driven old cars not collectors.

According to Wikipedia (I know, I know) they made the S7 from 2000-2004 and the S7 TT from 2005-2009.

Saleen has ventured out to more than just Mustangs. He does some Camaro stuff and a couple versions of the Challenger. When I was shopping for my Challenger, there was a few SMS Challengers for sale in dealer showrooms around the country. 2 versions, the 570 (hp rating) and the 700hp 570x. Real nice body work. Similar numbers on his Camaros. I love the hoods for the SMS cars. They have butterfly valves that open with a cable attached to the pedal.very aggressive looking,

    Here is his website
    http://www.smssupercars.com/

I believe he still has shop in California. There was talk about two years ago among the Challenger guys that he was moving to South Africa and losing employees. Also was talk of poor support and people getting superchargers that were incomplete and months to get missing parts or refund. But then we all know that not everything posted on forums is factual, so believe what you want there.

I noticed the changes yesterday, then I couldn’t get on the site. You must have been working on it.

I like the new look. New “Boardcode”. New look is nice all around

There is no way that isn’t a scam at that price. You can’t get a rusted hulk Charger for $6500.

    Checked the craigslist link….already removed.

Looks like something for everybody. I noticed some very nice Mopars and some very desirable Bow ties.

I don’t see where failing a drug test is the fault of the new ownership

The rumor floating around today is that the deal has gone thru and they started doing drug testing on current employees…and quite a few failed

I fully understand the person’s anger but he crossed the line when he grabbed the elderly gentleman.

It is frustrating when you park away, in a manner that won’t interfere with anyone else, to try and protect your pride and joy, and some disrespectful person feels the need to interfere with your piece of mind. I understand having a discussion with the person, explaining your desire to not have your prize damaged. But discussion is where it should end. Profanity is uncalled for, and assault is never called for.

Having one of the modern muscle cars that you may have seen this summer, let me chime in.

I have probably had just as many pictures taken of my car at shows as any classic.

My view is that this hobby should be open to everyone. Just because someone doesn’t share anothers’ tastes, or passions, does not make them any less of a car person. By not including any type of car, you are essentially saying “we don’t want you here” or “you are not good enough”. That is wrong. I have great pride in my car and have worked hard for it, much like you have yours. Do you think, back in 1970, people had a negative view of a COPO Camaro as you have towards a modern Camaro? I doubt it.

My next point is a simple one. Many of the classic cars that are allowed are simply purchased. Many of the cars showed are not built by the owners who show them, they are simply purchased. Should they be not allowed in also?

I do not understand this attitude that this hobby should be “only” for classics and not for all people. After all, this hobby is less about the cars, and more about the people who enjoy those cars.
