I try and avoid fast foods and try to dine at mom and pop places when I travel. I’m overweight, have diabetes, but I have other issues in my diet such as some of the meds I use make you gain weight. Now my doc has figured out my thyroid does not work well. He put me on some meds and I lost a bunch of weight over a two month period, but it stalled. The other issue is that I get ill from eating green things. The only greens I can tolerate is peas and green beans. My fave veggies tend to be corn, beets, carrots, peas and potatoes. The trouble with those is they are high in sugars or starch which turns to sugar.
You should look into organic fruits and veggies. If green things are making you ill when you eat them, it may be the chemicals used to produce those products, not the edibles themselves.
Organic does cost more, but its worth it. Not only are you allowing untreated foods to enter your body for consumption, but you are supporting local farmers.
Also, have you tried doing a cleanse? I personally have never done one, but I have a co worker who has done them in the past and she raves about how well she feels. She to is an organic foods nut/HFCS hater
moparkid25ParticipantDiets are one way to get back at the fatcats and the pharmacuitcal companies.
-Natural healing would eliminate a lot of these people who run to urgent care for a runny nose.
-Many sickenesses can be treated by hollistic care with items such as vitamin c and essential oils.
-High fructose corn syrup, people flip out over it. Natural sugar is better for you. The only thing I ingest with HFCS is mountain dew, and thats been a two a day for me for many years.
A lot of the problem is people dont want to eat healthy. IMO, places like McDonalds should be outlawed. If society ate better, took better care of themselves, and didnt rely on drug companies to make a pill to make them feel better, we qould see a huge decrease in insurance rates.

Took a long time to convince my employer to get a plan that I could be on. I have pre existing conditions and our old plan would not even insure me. Every employee on the plan at work pays what I pay…even the Boss/Owners. We have Humana which is pretty good but could be cheaper. At my wage it’s pretty much a third of my check. So, unlike the opinion held by Moparkid, we cannot all do it.I respectfully disagree, but understand your view based on your personal health.
I was informed today that my health insurance will see an increase of 100-170% thanks to Obamacare. I hate to say it, but we need to vote in as many Republicans as we can and abolish this law. Obamacare will break the already poor people, and some who are well off.
moparkid25ParticipantThere have been a few nice days, but my car is now stored and Im ok with it until spring.
moparkid25ParticipantI have heard that the guy who owns RK Motors was somehow tied to the place that was in the Capital Corvette building, then moved to Middleton (I cant remember the name of the place now, but I did some work for them way back when). They also have a place in Ohio, and Ive seen former local cars listed on the RK website.
moparkid25ParticipantI blame lack of maintenance on the consumer, not the price of what it costs. Granted, Im sure cost is a factor, but the cost of repairs due to lack of maintenance is greater.
Vehicles are designed to last 300k plus miles nowadays. They get that from being maintained. I dont agree with extended interval oil changes either, unless a proven synthetic oil is used. Oils still break down.
moparkid25ParticipantDDhemi drove a ’68 XL when we were in high school, but his was a 302 with a bench seat and column shift auto. This one with the 390, hubcaps and whitewalls would be a real sleeper!
moparkid25ParticipantIts sad to see only one American manufacturer on that list. There are plenty of domestic cars lines that are just as reliable as the ones on that list.
Of course, vehicle maintenance has something to do with the dependability of every vehicle.

Corrupt politicians.
This was my answer.
moparkid25ParticipantHow does Weaver Auto Parts sponsor a show, then O’reilly auto parts also is a sponsor?! Weavers is a Wisconsin company that pays taxes here where O’Reully is an excuse of a corporate parts store who couldnt hit there ass with both hands when it comes to customer interaction.
moparkid25ParticipantUnfortunately, this is something the show staff needs to be on top of, or it will continue to happen. I believe the golden rule is 3 mods or less for a stock class, but it varies by show.
There is a thread around here somewhere that discusses trophy mongers class jumping before judging to get the advantage win, putting new mustangs in special interest, and cruising the competition before settling on your ‘correct’ class.
Hopefully it will get better for you, but there will always be someone doing it.
My car is modified. I put it in the modified classes. Most people dont really know what they are looking at anyway…
moparkid25ParticipantSounds like a show to check out next year. I had a wedding in DBQ last Saturday, it was ok thanks to Jameson Irish Whiskey. But the weather was more car show esque!
moparkid25ParticipantThat foxbody Mustang with the new 5.0l swap is pretty cool.
moparkid25ParticipantNothing has changed in my life since the shutdown.
Obamacare is not the answer, but neither is the American people allowing the healthcare industry to rape our insurance companies which in turn shows up in our premiums.
Personally, I feel healthcare is a benefit, not a right. It is also not up to the government to dictate who has healthcare. If you cannot afford health insurance, you are not alone. Many people have healthcare bills adding up. But, when I see someone smoking a cigarette, buying beer, texting on there new iphone, and covered in tattoos crying about how they cant afford health insurance I want to punch them. Its about priorities.
I have Physicians Plus, which is like one step above Obamacare  But I eat right, I am active, I watch what I put into my body, and I get a physical every year (an STD test too, can never trust women with questionable morals). My healthcare is less than $100 a month, and I actually have pretty decent co pays.
If I can do it, so can others. Again, priorities.
