See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Had to think about this one, because there’s shows I wished still took place, and shows I wish didn’t go down the toilet.

-The show that was put on by an older car club that took place at the VFW. I won my first 1st place trophy with my red Charger there. Its one of those trophies that actually means something. That was the last year that show took place.

-Mt. Horeb used to have a good show during the Frolic, but that has since moved to Verona during Hometown Days. I hope the Springdale Lutheran Church show grows and brings some excitement back to town!!

Well out of the 5 cars in the photo, you got 2 of the years correct and the only reason you got the crossfire’s correct is because you read his plaque. The chevelle is a 67, the probe is a 95, and the talon is a 97. All of the cars were a group and were told at the gate to park together in that location. The cars weren’t registered because winning a trophy wasn’t on the agenda for the day, which was clearly your only reason for attending…

Thanks for coming on and being a complete asshole to a guy who was simply asking a question.

I miss the Armory show, ran by Sgt Kevin N. Even though it was participant ballot, it was a fun show.

A buddy and I took our buicks to it last year. Oct 2 was a cold, cold day but it wasn’t a bad show. From what I gather, this show is always held the first Sat of October… But I have not seen any info for it either. I don’t want to take a chance driving to stockton to find out its not on.

Let me make a post on some of the Buick sites and see if I can get some info. Despite the weather, it was a pretty nice show last year. And Stockton is only an hour from my house, so you can add 10 minutes to your drive.

This is a participant judged show, but overall probably one of the best (and one of my favorite) shows to attend each year.

The staff is very friendly, and they do an excellent job operating it. There is plenty of open area also for parking.

You will also not vote for cars in your class, the way they have the ballots set up limits the vehicles you can vote for.

I used that year range for an example. This car show is done. They have destroyed it by Todd Newton’s ego. It is not his show, It is the Spring Green Area Chamber of Commerce Car show. I was asked to design this then pushed to the side so he could be the king of it.

Yes you are right about the rain and people not bringing their cars out in that but that had little bearing on this show. This show will be nothing in 2 years time.

As far as other awards they have, The Thomas award should not be part of this show because it is a special additional award. When I said I was going to have my pick I was informed I could not do that cause that was a special award. What is the Thomas award then? Does it not fit into a special award?

Are we talking about the same Todd Newton?! I’m suprised by your comments, and have to say that every interaction I’ve had with him, or any of his helpers, has been a positive experience.

The Tomas award is a memorial award given to a car that is selected by the Tomas family IIRC. Unless you’re part of the family, you have no right to pick the who that award goes to. I’m proud to say I know Eric Tomas, and not only is he one hell of a body man, he’s just one hell of a great guy in general.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Its been awhile since we had someone up on the soapbox with a bad taste in there mouth… Perhaps ‘Cuda Man’ will chime in on this and give us his two wooden nickles. BTW, what other car shows do you attend with your classic?

The BP in Brodhead now sells race gas. $6.19/gal off the pump 👿

Tried to buy some yesterday, but they wouldn’t let me go directly from pump to car with it

Since we’re busting out the daily drivers, I have this to leave my carbon footprint with:

Welcome to the forum fokus83. THe toughest part of doing a garage floor is getting the surface clean enough. What is the best way to clean a garage floor?

I’ve been told to make sure you acid etch any oil spots prior to painting. I’ve also been told to use quikcrete in powder form to lift the oil residue from the concrete floors.
