That is a bit ruff on Mustang owners, who could see the cut off date ….

But your driving a VW..
I heard a few years ago 65’s were trying pass them off as 64 1/2’s to get in. So to avoid
confusion they just said no Mustangs..-X
XmanParticipantI’m just waiting to see all the PETA protesters….
XmanParticipantI do check the backs of my eyelids while sitting in my favorite chair for a bit.
XmanParticipantHmmmm,
A car said to have belonged to Buddy Holly has been pulled from a major auction company’s sales docket.
Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. of Scottsdale, Ariz., said Wednesday it has decided to remove the 1958 Chevrolet from its national auction block because it cannot resolve questions about the authenticity of the car.
The coral Chevy is owned by Bill Clement of Lubbock, who stopped in Clovis last week enroute to the auction in Scottsdale.
Bill Griggs of Lubbock, an author and Buddy Holly historian, questioned the car’s authenticity, sparking Barrett-Jackson’s investigation.
“While we were disappointed to have to pull such a high profile car from the auction,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson, “this was a decision we were willing to make in order to ensure all our customers are provided with a fair, trustworthy forum for buying or selling a collector car.”
XmanParticipantThis will be where a fool and his money parted..Wonder why this car didn’t go to the BJ auction? Could it be cause there is no reserve at that one. Or maybe the documentation is not there to have this car broadcasted all over the world?
XmanParticipantOk I’ve lurked long enough. Put down the bong and back away… :X
I feel all car shows should be for vehicles at least 20 years old and older. I really feel we are starting to coddle anyone who buys a new car at these darn shows.
Or should I put some wax on my 04 Buick LeSabre and show up? :silly:
It is starting to get ridiculous..
XmanParticipantKind of a pathetic list I think, people must have signed up just promote their shows. My personal opinion I really don’t think Iola is that great. And all I heard was P&M’ing from Heathers show. Hwy 61 was nice.. But no mention of Blanchardville? c’mon that was a really good show.
Maybe the shows should be rated as how the judging was instead!
XmanParticipantLooks like a Mark Donohue Javelin from the rear..
XmanParticipantIt is a nice looking car, but it does have Ringish features don’t you think?

Quote:Xman, good to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing, you know with your bad toe and all. Is it any better? how’s the swelling? I think you can get help for that. Funny you should mention spam. I noticed a few car show cruisers were looking for new shows next season, that were serving different types of food. No one specifically mentioned Spam, but I thought with the tremendous variety of cuisine available at the Road Apples show you might consider adding it to the menu.If not perhaps we can include it for next years Hwy. 61 Cruise In here in Boscobel. Crappy weather eh? Not to stop an old cruiser like me though. Goin to Reedsburg Sunday for the annual fall color cruise. Tom Vinopal is Quite dedicated to this charity event, that I believe drew in excess of 100 cars last year. All in all, it is a very good run. Deb and I run the car’s til the salt truck say’s we’re done, Xman take care and best wishes to you and the Apple’sI’m always around somewhere…
Well, we were thinking about breakfast there’s egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam,…spam spam spam egg and spam; spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam……or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam. :woohoo:
XmanParticipantGood find..

Quote:I would agree with Zac’s comments on the best shows and appreciate the comment about Saturday in the Park. We plan on putting on the show again in 2010 and have already started planning it.Spring Green has always been a favorite of mine, and will continue to be. I know they plan on making some changes next year that should make the show more interesting and even better.
I helped judge at Pardeeville this year, a record 525 cars. This is a great show, but I feel it’s experiencing growing pains ~ in that it’s growing TOO fast. I was almost impossible to fairly judge that many cars in the time period we had, and the judges were exhausted by the end of the day. I don’t know if they can limit the years or what, but when you grow by 100 cars each year, it’s really hard to keep up.
Edgerton has always been a good show, but was very disappointing this year. You don’t have anyone off the street judge the cars for less than a minute, give awards to the club putting on the show and so on. I’m hoping the promoters have read our comments and make some changes. I can’t help but think they were hurt by our comments, hopefully they are helpful.
All in all, I would hope some of the shows would break up the classes better, realize new cars don’t belong in the same class as old cars and new cars certainly don’t deserve Best of Show awards. Limit the number of awards per person (no family should walk away with 4-5 awards), keep the show running and on time and life will be good.
DITTO…..

Quote:I know in my case, by only having to pick/judge the best car in a few classes, that I slow down alot and really look hard at each car in the class. I have surprised myself this year by picking cars that I have not really paid attention to at past shows. As examples of this type of participant pick/judging, I would point out Spring Green and the Mayville Show.I helped judge the Pardeeville (?s) show this year. When you really stop and go over each car it is amazing how many cars I thought were nice are really flawed.
Participant judging is a joke. I proved this last year as a test during one show. Just go to a small town show, and on your window card put your home town as the one your in. I told all my friends at the show I was doing this, and now they believe me..
