Zac, bummed you can’t attend but understand, I’ll be in touch
circletrackParticipantWe were told there was one – yes one, student in the 2nd year program. The enrollment in this program is way down, the automotive field (especially auto body & repair) is finding it’s very difficult to find people that want to get into this line of work, let alone retain them. My husband works for Gerber (Gates Auto Body) and the turnover is very high, millennials and physical labor do not mix, unfortunately
circletrackParticipantHeading to World of Wheels Saturday.. show seems to have many of the same local cars and motorcycles with a few new ones and touring cars thrown in but it’s a great way to break up the winter and get those juices flowing
circletrackParticipantRiding in the back of pickup trucks is illegal this year, should be interesting to see how that’s enforced. I wish everyone involved in this show good luck – it’s no longer Automotion weekend, it’s spring break weekend. We’ll go up on Saturday for the day, it sure would be nice to have all the shows that weekend spread out.
circletrackParticipantMike, the ’55 is at Jim’s Auto Upholstery. He is located off Hwy. CV, 4611 Dovetail Dr. He’s a busy guy and always seems to have projects in the works, but I’d give him a try. Sorry to hear the rodents took a liking to your car two years in a row, we use Bounce in ours and haven’t had any problems. Good luck!
circletrackParticipantAre all the shows that were on the calendar gone?
circletrackParticipantShould be interesting.. I do agree with the comment — it’s not Automotion that’s the problem, it’s the side circus that comes with it. I’ve seen posts on Facebook pages from kids in surrounding states that are making the drive – why?? Do they even know there is a show held at Noah’s Ark, more than likely not. I wish them luck, adding additional police is a nice idea, but they are outnumbered.. ending the other events may help more. Nothing was mentioned about the show at Mount Olympus, wonder if that’s still on?
circletrackParticipantLooks like a fun one, too bad it’s not the “power” tour it used to be with all the new cars
circletrackParticipantSun?! I haven’t seen the sun in days, this week isn’t looking too promising either

I think Barrett Jackson starts on Tuesday, the real auction starts Monday but nothing is televised until Tuesday. Looking forward to it!
circletrackParticipantHi all.. We didn’t attend many shows in 2016 – started out the year at the MATC show and darn near froze, let alone the snow flurries on the way home, not my idea of fun.
My favorite show will always be Back to the 50’s, with over 12,000 cars it’s impossible to describe, you have to live it. I enjoy getting away for the weekend with a great group of friends, being surrounded by so many people and pretty awesome cars. Dave Kindig from Bitchin Rides and his crew were there this year, seeing the cars he builds close up – wow!
Steve & I intended on attending Tri Five Nationals in Bowling Green, KY in August but my father very unexpectedly passed away right before the show. His passing set the tone for the rest of the summer as there was so much to do, we did manage to judge Corvette’s again at Pardeeville, think that is coming to an end as our entire day is spent judging. That show is great, but has gotten really big, they easily have over 1000 cars, with roughly half of them judged, it’s a lot of work.
The Road Apples are planning for 2017 and thinking of doing something different. The show will again be held at the VFW, a great place to host a show. Instead of the typical judging in 25+ classes, we are thinking of doing more of an arena or round up style of judging, the first 100 cars that want to be judged would be in this area with anyone else that comes after the area is filled, or does not want to be in the arena to be parked like any other show and judged by their fellow participants. We want to enjoy the show we’ve worked hard all year to plan, it’s very time consuming to judge, let alone not everyone enjoys it. We will want to have a judged show, not crazy about spectator judging. What do you think? Is this something you think would work, or would it draw you away from a show?
circletrackParticipantAnd.. all the white lab coats and uniforms the mechanics wore – what were they thinking?

I’m almost tempted to order copies of some, you just don’t find scenes like this anymore.
