Eclipse_TunerParticipant
Yep, they still do the burn outs and muffler rap contests.
The show organizer, Tony, called me yesterday to find out what happened from my perspective. He seemed pretty understanding about the crappy judging. He said he plans on making changes to the judging next year. But the proof will be in the delivery, so we’ll see how that goes.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantWe got over 4 inches in the first 45min yesterday, for a total of almost 6 in Columbus…My basement got pretty wet.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantQuote:I had a few complaints about the artwork on your car at my show as well but i simply stated that you wouldnt ask museums to cover up naked statues. I think these cars are art and should be displayed proudly. Thanks for that. You have no idea how much artists appreciate open mindedness like that…it actually does mean a lot.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantYeah, I was less than amused. But I wasnt all that surprised since it was a church organization running the show.
I’ve had artwork censored before (especially at the Dodge County Fair), so its nothing new. However I do find it funny that both the Catholic and Lutheran chuches censor even their own religous paintings.
I tolerated it this time in the hopes that it wont happen again. However if it does happen again, I will probably leave the show because I have little patience for intolerance.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantAshipun car show on Saturday for me.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantArmory show for us as well. Im scrambling to re-paint my airbrushed trunk inlay after an unfortunate paint peel problem on Sunday….lots of long nights this week.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantChalmers Jewlers show on Sat. and Beaver Dam Swan City show on Sunday
Eclipse_TunerParticipantI’d agree with your class so far. Mustangs, Camaros/Firebirds/Transams, Chargers, and Challengers would all fit. It could also include Monte Carlos and Grand Nationals in the grey area.
Corvettes definatly can have their own grouping.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantVerona for us as well.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantIll be there, and in the meantime, let me know what I can do to help.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantI think Im going to enter Dropfest this weekend. I havent been to this show before, so Ill give it a shot.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantIm surprised Madison wasnt in the top 10. The drivers here are absolutely terrible, mainly because they are so unpredictable in their actions. I worked in China for a while, and the drivers there are a hell of a lot better than in Madison.
And the cyclists here are equally as bad. Im an avid cyclist, but they think they own the road here.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantIt was a nice show last year, unfortunatly I dont think Ill be able to make it this year (getting back from vacation early that morning). Hope it turns out well.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantI think you might want to split the 1990-present class into 1990-2000, 2000+ class. And definatly add a tuner class.
Eclipse_TunerParticipantI also use Meguires pretty much exclusively. Which helped me to land a sponsorship from them for car care products. But for paint buffing, I still think that 3M has a better line in terms of micro polishes and buffing compounds…but thats a slightly different application.
