The OP mentions about the 63 Pontiac Ambulance on auction…it is a fake. The real one was crushed.

Well, I was going to get new chrome steel wheels for the HHR, but med bills and the IRS put a stop to that.

Oh yeah, I agree. Of course my GF has a disability and I am a fat guy, so I just love it when people assume the Disabled placard is mine. A person told me to lose some weight and not use the parking spot. At that time my GF comes around the car with her cane and I tell him…”Hey, the placard is hers. Now let me show you how NOT disabled I am” as I walked toward him with fists clenched. He backed off. And I never use the placard when I’m by myself. Also, there is a guy with a late 80s Dodge Shadow with a turbo. It’s white and has never been washed…EVER! The dirt is so thick you could plant taters. You can barely tell it’s a white car.

I wonder what the statistics would look like when you break it down by type of crime, or race.

They also decided to not use Bartolotta’s Fireworks for the 3rd of July. They went with a cheaper Iowa company. I’ll bet the CEO got a fat raise for that one.

The US is not Japan which is highly over populated and a very small island. The rail system there makes good sense and has been in use for quite some time. The US is also not Europe with cities older than 5 – 600 years old with narrow streets. Of course rail makes sense there as well. The USAs combination of being rather large ( a state is as big as a European country), ease of acquiring and keeping a car, low fuel costs and low taxation on cars makes it the better choice. Rail works in cities like NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, but would not be the optimum choice in smaller cities. In case one hadn’t noticed, Madison is a small city and Milwaukee is a medium sized city. We don’t have grid lock or the other problems involved with traffic like LA does.

What do you consider strong qualifications? I see she is an appointee to Natural Resources Board…that right there is a qualifier. A hunter and user of outdoor resources like snowmobile trails. Seems like someone who has outdoor experience and not just a suit with a degree. Hmmm, a former State Senator…sounds like someone who knows the inner workings of commitees and hearings working on regulations. A critic of the DNR? Ask anyone who hunts, fishes, bikes, skis, smowmobiles, camps or hikes or owns wooded property or a farm. They are all critics of the DNR.

Yup. Sitting here working only half days. Barely makes the insurance payment. I’m forty bucks shy of my car payment, and I’m paying my drug copays with my credit card…I wish i worked for the state.
