See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

I was there as well. It was good to be involved in the process. It was asked if there was any present who supported Trans 123 and no one answered. Thanks to all that made it. I know many took of work to be there and will miss out on pay. Obviously, it was that important. Went to lunch with the Pinzegaur guys (who this thing seems to be aimed at, initially). Awesome group of guys and one of them had their Pinz at the meeting.

Seeing as I will be in Madison for the Trans 123 meeting tomorrow, I think I’m going to go to Waunakee. I’m bringing art supplies to draw cars.

I am so glad you liked it. You have a really neat car. I’m happy I got it to fit on the paper.

Wednesday Night Classics at Pistol Petes no longer exists. Most of the crowd goes to a place in Sussex now.

I think a modern retro class could work in some shows. That would be good place for the PT Cruisers, New Beetles, New Mini Coopers, HHRs, Challengers and Camaros and late model Mustangs.

Road trip anyone? I’ll be DJing the East Troy Lions car show in East Troy, Wisconsin on the fourth of July. It’s a nice little show on grass and afterwards, you can try Gus’s Drive In which is across the street.

My company is closing for the week before the fourth…nutz. I feel bad for the ones who are laid off for the long term. Looks like the Janesville GM plant will not be chosen for the new sub compact line.

Rumor has it some asshat has been calling the Sun Prairie City Offices demanding to see permits for the Road Apples show tomorrow. You only need a permit if your selling alcoholic concessions, which they are not. The Fire Dept donated the cost of the park, and all concessions vendors are not financially affiliated to the show. They supply and sell the product, not the car club.

Obviously a piss poor attempt by someone to sabotage a show that has been so well planned out and organized thru a lot of hoops, sweat, and hard work.

If I get my hands on the culprit, well, lets just say my language won’t be that of Queens’ English nor will my physical actions…

That sucks! Why do people insist on doing stuff like that? Some anti-car person?

Not too sure this weekend… We’ve talked about going to the Memories Car Club show, have to figure out how far away that is… Sunday I think we’re headed to Portage. Haven’t looked at the weather forecast yet, but it really doesn’t mean anything until that day! ;)

That show is in Oak Creek, one of the southern suburbs of Milwaukee. Not too hard to find. Howell is a main road.

Sad indeed. This is just wrong. First, these dealers paid huge money for those franchises and the ones who are told they are not going to be dealers any more aren’t even getting a re-imbursement or some kind of financial remuneration. What we are seeing here people is pure socialism. The government owns part of GM along with the labor union. If anyone thinks this is a good idea, they are nuts or they actually long for a socialist land here. I don’t!
