The last time Chrysler got help from the government, Chrysler paid it back. What troubles me in all this is that the UAW will own 55% of the automaker (and GM). Does anyone really think a union owning 55% of anything is a good idea?
lordairgtarParticipantGus’s Drive In is a Saturday cruise
lordairgtarParticipantFord is bringing out decent cars while GM and Chrysler are going hat in hand to the government to get stim money. Didn’t anyone study what happened to the British auto industry once the government got involved?
lordairgtarParticipantSome communities have the fire department bill you after a call, very common in California. Trash doesn’t just disappear from your back yard or driveway, it’s part of your property tax, or is figured into the cost of your rent. I pay $236.00 every two weeks (I make $11.15 per hour, 80 hours a week) for my Health insurance, very expensive, but I would rather have the choice to see the physician of my choice. Yes, the plan doesn’t pay for everything, but the socialized plans in other countries are lacking. Speaking of Romania, my nephew was the drummer for Rictus Grin (metal Band) and played a concert in Vlad Tepid’s castle in Romania. Had to see a doctor while there and he tells me it is not something you would want to do. People who live in Canada and are close to the border of the US will opt for a hospital stay in the US because the government appointed hospital and health board decides who gets what kind of care, plus there is a huge waiting time for anything major.
lordairgtarParticipantJonmandude hit the nail on the head. It’s about revenue. Arresting burglars, assaulters, abusers, hookers and drug dealers and pimps is not going to fill the city’s treasure room. Putting actual people in jail costs money. Find the aldermen and other elected officials who support such actions and vote them out. We must remind the police commission why we pay them…and it is not to harass otherwise law abiding citizens who are out enjoying their legally acquired and enjoyed automobiles.
lordairgtarParticipantGM in Janesville will be closing its doors Thursday.
lordairgtarParticipantHow ya doin’ John? I think those two shows just have been in place for so long that people just show up because they have been doing it for years. Holtz does have entry procedures when you go and pre register as well. Solid Gold doesn’t, you just show up. Do not know of any programs used. You might wanna ask on http://www.wednesdaynightclassics.com as well.
lordairgtarParticipantlinky??
lordairgtarParticipantI knew Soglin when he was still a student. Gave me a place to crash when I was Hitch hiking through back in the day.
lordairgtarParticipantHope that new kid on the block will do Mt Horeb good.
lordairgtarParticipantjust continue to vote for the same idiots over and over again. Incumbents in the state are way to comfortable in their jobs.
lordairgtarParticipantJust keep voting for the same idiots. That will certainly make things better.

Either car Will Smith had in Bad Boys
The Charger SRT8 in Street KingsMad Max’s Holden for sure, but the iconic Black Falcon he uses later on is cop car as well. Back in the seventies, Georgia had V8 Pintos, prepared by Gapp and Roush and later they had Mustang IIs. AMC Javelins were used there as well. Wisconsin State Patrol had Fox body Mustangs, and I liked the AMC four door Matadors they had. Back in the 70s, the town of Cotati, California had Mazda sedans that were rotary equipped. The State of California had used for one year only, the Olds Delmont in 1967. In 68, they went to the Dodge Polara.

Both are still viable, sorry Obama, Toyota and Honda aren’t going to build your tanks if hell opens up and we have another World War.
Yes, all one has to do is look at the British auto industry during the 70s and 80. Austin and Morris were pretty much stalled as far as new product and innovation. Anyone remember the Austin Marina/Allegro?
lordairgtarParticipantSince when does the government have the right to tell a CEO to leave. Isn’t that up share holders and the board of directors? Welcome to the Socialist Soviet American States
