Judges are not to stop or create laws, only to uphold them and interpret them. It will be interesting to see how this plays out since there is no precedence for this. A bill passed by the Senate and the Representatives, then signed by the Governor, makes it a law. I learned that in school. The judges have no say.
lordairgtarParticipantI’ve always liked the old Ford 8N and the IH Farmall M. My family had dairy farms up around the Rapids and I grew up driving all manner of tractors from Oliver to Case. As a city kid, my friends were amazed a 10 year old could manage those machines.

lordairgtarParticipantProlly ain’t as bad as the sink hole in Milwaukee.
lordairgtarParticipantNothing except the thunder.
lordairgtarParticipantHolz Chevrolet in Hales Corners. Bought two new cars there and they always treat me well and the service is good. Plus they put on a kick butt car show on the 4th of July.

lordairgtarParticipantGood article, GTO man. But can you trust FOX? Just Kidding. I believe Henry Ford started improving the daily lot of workers long before unions came into the auto industry. Could the unions actually thank Henry? He initiated the $5 a day pay when others in the industry only paid $2.50. That rankled many auto makers in Detroit.
lordairgtarParticipantYou should put this on a national Nova forum if you didn’t already.
lordairgtarParticipantI certainly hope so.
lordairgtarParticipantThe tax exempt status of churches dates back quite a bit. It would be hard to change the status quo. I do believe that big mega churches that have thousands of members should pay some kind of tax. It’s only right. Charities that use over 40% of their contributions to pay their boards and CEOs should be taxed. United Way uses up over 75% of what they take to just run the charity. The local clothing and food bank is more apt to use all donations for what they were intended.
lordairgtarParticipantI am not sure how I feel about present day unions. I grew up in a family that were union members…UAW, IBRW, Machinist union…etc. Unions fought for living wages and safe working conditions. I think OSHA addresses many of the safety concerns these days.

The 2007 HHR panel had a rotor problem because of the Chinese sourced brake parts but I found a Canadian made replacement at NAPA and the problem never came back. They have been very reliable over all with scheduled maintenance being the only costs over gas.
lordairgtarParticipantI will be attending as many shows as I can. Maybe not going as far, but I will do at least two shows per weekend. Of course it should be said i am DJing some and drawing cars at others so gas will be paid for regardless.
lordairgtarParticipantOne of the reasons I bought the HHR Panel instead of some huge SUV is this very reason. I like over 30mpg. Don’t know what the next choice will be cuz they don’t make the HHR anymore.
