While I will say that I brought my 88 Buick Electra Park Avenue out just to avoid the ridiculous 90-present class that my unrestored 90 Cadillac would get stuck in, this is far from the only show that adheres to that class. It seems to me that the staff have made some improvements in judging and show operations since moparkid25’s experience in 2009. Some of the highlights are a car from the 60’s (65 can’t recall what) winning best of show stock and a 1933 Pontiac (I was so jealous of this car it was awesome) winning best of show Modified.

They still don’t have the survivor class, the explanation I received last year was that there was a lack of interest but it really sounded like they didn’t want to hassle with determining what were really survivors and which had too much restoration or modification done. I can recall in the four doors, vans, and wagons class (class I had considered entering before I chose 80-89) that two very nicely restored cars a 55-56 Chevy and a very nice Chrysler won and they IMHO were quite deserving. In my own class there were 4 cars, 3 of which had under 90,000 miles on them and a very well presented Oldsmobile 442 (could have had low miles didn’t see). With us judges visited multiple times particularly addressing the engine bay as interiors and exteriors on these cars were all very nice; and it took them some time to determine a final winner based on that. I believe one person did get a few awards with a best of class and best GM or something to that effect which I don’t entirely agree with (if he had multiple cars I stand corrected) but my point is not to condemn this show as it seems to be showing improvement over time.

LuxurylinersParticipantThere seems to be some confusion centered around the word cruise in Amy’s request…according to the wishes tab of the linked website here: http://kidswishnetwork.org/2011/05/i-want-to-enjoy-a-cruise-2/ cruise is in reference to his wish for a “relaxing cruise on the high seas” not so much in a classic car. I hope this clarifies the request.
LuxurylinersParticipantI can remember there were very limited classes in the past as well but I Wonder if they changed much for this year…other than the date that is!
LuxurylinersParticipantSounds like a nice show but at a 432 mile round trip would have to make a weekend out of it maybe visit Green Bay. Thanks for sharing!
LuxurylinersParticipantThere were actually a lot of people walking through and all the nearby streets were lined with parked cars from all the spectators.
LuxurylinersParticipantFor anyone interested I looked further and found that Ness auto sales is having an open house June 4 in Lodi with kids games, brats, and a car show…called them, its an informal event but voting will take place for the favorite car to win a prize (a gps I believe he said) more info here :http://www.nessautomotive.com/site/car_show
LuxurylinersParticipantTentatively looking at Sun Prairie Saturday and Jefferson Sunday but also heard there is a show with an auto dealership grand opening in Lodi on Saturday…anyone know anything about it?
LuxurylinersParticipantMy thoughts exactly in going to this show, there are a few shows right near the IL WI border that aren’t a long drive for me and its nice to see something other than the beltline and 18/151 on the way to shows every so often.
LuxurylinersParticipantQuite a few beautiful cars, I will be uploading picures of all the cars (hopefully I didn’t miss one) that attended in the next few days under the 2011 photo gallery if interested.
LuxurylinersParticipantAgreed they put on a good show and I look forward to their future events and sponsorship never hurts
LuxurylinersParticipantIt was held in Lake Mills Wisconsin at 2shores near the school.
LuxurylinersParticipantI believe a 2007ish modified corvette won best of show this year…nice car but as you said pretty new.
LuxurylinersParticipantApparently that doesnt work either….thousands of pictures and no way to post them
LuxurylinersParticipantA couple pictures I took with my phone (have many others but my camera is 14mp and the file sizes are too large for upload)
LuxurylinersParticipantI agree with Eclipse Tuner on splitting the 90-present class as long as you think the turnout will warrant it, I’ve also seen a class for “sport compact” that would probably cover a lot of tuner vehicles.
