I’m driving a 77 Chevy Caprice. thumbsup.gif
montefrazerParticipantI only get Auto Restorer now. I like it because it doesn’t have any ads, just stories, how to do articles, and a Q&A section. I exchange magazines with a friend who gets several hot rod magazines and his are 80% advertising.
montefrazerParticipantI’ll probably start a lively discussion but, as someone who has judged both types of shows, here’s my opinion. If it’s a single make National or local club meet and show I think there should be judging for those who want it. Kind of a yard stick of where you are compared to where you want to go. At a general car show, no. No one can keep track of what is correct for all the different cars that show up, so it becomes a beauty pagent.
montefrazerParticipantWaukesha, maybe Firestone and Early Mustangers at Venus Ford.
montefrazerParticipantEgr is a possibility. It should be fully closed at low speeds. Mixing exhaust gas in at low speeds could cause this problem. I would check the plugs right after it dies to see if any are wet. If one or more are, it could be an leaky injector(s) problem and the computer trying to compenate. A fuel pressure test may show something, too high, too low. If this problem came on after a fill up, it may just be some bad gas. There were big problems with injectors around Milwaukee last year that were traced to bad gas.
montefrazerParticipantCold, wet, and depressing. I’m staying in the house until things get better. Then it’s back to the cars for some projects that need to be done.
montefrazerParticipantDo a visual check of the plug wires, hoses and belts. Check the PCV and consider a fuel filter if it hasn’t been changed in several years.
montefrazerParticipantwave.gif wave.gif Hi again Ryan.
montefrazerParticipantHi Ryan. wave.gif Reminds me of the 64 Beetle I had 30 years ago.
montefrazerParticipantCool but sunny according to the weather guesser. See you there if everything works according to plan.
montefrazerParticipantGrayslake for sure and maybe the Drive the Mile.
montefrazerParticipantthumbsup.gif icon_applause.gif
montefrazerParticipantSilver for the bumper. The green for the state is nice. Maybe a contrasting color for the car body.
montefrazerParticipantWhat do you think about making the letters gold? Or just the two C’s?
montefrazerParticipantI like it.
