No he did not show me the judging sheet he told me every thing was excellent and besides its non of your business, you werent even there, you who think your some kind of know it all should keep your nose out of other peoples business if it doesnt concern you.

You posted it on a public forum, thus making the topic open for discussion.

I attend a lot of shows, both as a spectator and a participant. I think I know a thing or two about how they are/can be ran by the organizers. I also know a lot of people in the area who have nice cars as they have contracted me to do all types of work.

Heaven forbid someone would ever lie to you.

I love new guys who are tough behind the keyboard, especially ones who wear a back brace and bitch when they dont win an award, or when the rest of the world doesn’t agree with them.

That sounds like a reasonable way to do it. Do you think there’s a way to prevent buddy votes as well?

    No.

I like the system used by the folks who do the Jesus Built my Hot Rod show. You judge half a dozen or so classes, of which your car is not in. It doesn’t eliminate all the buddy votes, but it helps make things more fair.

How do you know you received all ‘Excellent’s on your judging sheet? Did the Judge show you while he was doing it? If the judge did that, he shouldn’t be judging cars/trucks. If you were standing over his shoulder and hounding him while he was doing his duty (and I am not accusing you of doing so), he may have told you that and lied to you.

Zac… how much did they charge for the walking tacos? I’m tossing that idea around for the RA show next year…

$3, and it was a pretty good size helping also. I could’ve ate 3 or 4 easy, but only had one. Trying to watch my weight….

    Highs:

Attended different shows in different states. Some were good, some sucked.

Blanchardville – 25 years of Frankness, though a milestone its bittersweet its coming to an end.

Shows being put on for a good cause, not to pad someone’s wallet.

No one annoying me to the point of me wanting to see if my fist can fit inside there face.

Won my first Pardeeville award, means more to me than most people would understand.

    Lows:

The annoucer/organizer at the Edgerton show being drunk during the awards.

    The weather.

Beloit Autorama – F*** me once, shame on you. F*** me twice, shame on me.

People disrespecting other people’s property. Opening car doors, sitting in cars, touching cars. These people need to go hiking in Iran.

Upset there wasn’t enough bitching about RTS’s this year like the last couple. It was a great stress reliever for me.

Overall, I just wasnt as pumped up about shows this year like last. I think it’s time to reitre after 10 seasons in the league

That’s funny you say that because the guy with the ’73 Chevelle that’s like a cow crap brown won (he does cartwheels when he wins, just weird), and I couldn’t figure out why someone would vote for that car when there were much, much nicer cars there. Oh well, live and learn!

That car is a nice car, but IMO is over-restored. The cartwheel thing is also odd.

I have wondered before at a few other shows why that vehicle has not won a Best of Show award.

When being “politically correct” trumps “speaking your mind”, something is bad wrong in this country.

I respect Hank Williams, Jr. for speaking out. He had to know that his comments would set off a fire storm in the popular media. It takes courage to speak out for what you believe to be true.

Hank’s comments are his opinion, and he is entitled to speak them (just as any American has the right to). Hank getting blasted for speaking his mind on Fox News is no different than when I get jumped for my political opinions being posted here. The only difference is I’ve never apologized, nor will I, and Hank found the need to.

Let’s face it, he’s right. Our President has done what?

    *Not created any jobs
*Spent more money the country doesn’t have
*Made apologies for this country’s past actions, showing he has no backbone
*Earned himself an approval rating that’s below 20%, causing members of his own party to look elsewhere for a democratic candidate to run in ’12

I could go on and on, but I’m tired and tomorrow is a big day

I too tested your theory at a couple of Good ‘ol Boy shows south of the border, and it does work.

Just make sure you have a story line, one guy asked me what street I lived on

Really? I thought it was your Bro. How about that traffic snafu on 51 where they were resurfacing? A car behind me got rear ended while waiting to pass thru.

I had to go to Rio yesterday afternoon, and on the way up I passed Dick Lenherr, GTO Man’s brother (in the GTO), and Marshall at the 51/22 interchange at North Leeds. Marshall was in his Mustang at the stop sign when I went by, and being in my car I beeped the horn at him but I don’t think he saw me :)
