My 2 cents, I’ve been to a lot of shows and judged plenty of them. As a judge you need to be non-biased. You cannot have several people jumping all over classes. It just is not fair for the participants. The judge has to stick with the class he/she is judging. As for classes the Road Apples have put a lot of thought into there classes to make the show as fair as possible. This year they have added a trailered class also, because it is just not fair for the people who drive their cars to the show. Also I have yet to see a perfect score in judging a car show.

I heard the Poynette show was being moved to some body shop in Poynette. Thats a bummer they had a great park setting there and the Legion had a great breakfast and lunch.

LOL, actually when used for the right purpose they are pretty nice bags. My brother had his car in a machine shed for three years in one of those bags. You could not even see the car inside it was so dirty. But when you unzipped the bag the car did not even have a spec of dust on it.

Dells cruisers really need to remove Motion from the title of their show. Trafficjam might be a better name. This show is not the way I wanted to start the show season.. Good thing there were plenty of friends to make the weekend fun.

Sub-Zero To Lay Off 100 Madison Employees

    Channel 3000 Story

I talked to a friend who was laid off from Sub Zero last night. He told me this was an old story they re-aired. The Madison plant has been virtually empty since last year. When the announcement was made they were moving to Texas. He said they only moved the custom builds to Texas, they were making about 13 custom refrigerators a week. Also the Fitchburg plant is hiring and has mandatory overtime in place because they are so busy. So looks like good news for some..;-)

A few years ago Greedguys had 24 shows, now they are down to 20. I wonder if sponsorship is dwindling due to the economy?

What I heard today was that the original group that created the World Of Wheels are the ones that are putting this together. It is not a World of Wheels event.

I was also told that if you want to show your car you could do so for free. Spectators would be 5 bucks.

Interesting I was one of those World of Wheels people and have not heard anything about this show at all.

Your right it does take time, but I remember a promise of 250,000 new jobs in four years for the private sector. Looks like we got 236,000 to go.. Right on schedule…;-)

Did you miss the other posts about adding jobs? It’s well known Sub Zero will lay off workers, no surprise there. :)

Guess I missed that: “The state’s 14,600 lost jobs in November not only led the nation but reflected the fifth straight month of declines in the job market.”

I was being lead to believe that “Wisconsin Is Open For Business!!!

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported Wednesday that the state lost 9,700 jobs in October, primarily in Milwaukee. The statewide unemployment rate for October was 7.7 percent.

The monthly number compared with other states across the country is the worst in the nation. It’s the fourth month in a row that the state has lost jobs, WISC-TV reported.

This is from Channel3000 online headlines, todays date.

Hmmmm, and Illinois added +30,000 jobs in October..Sounds like “Illinois is open for business” http://www.ides.illinois.gov/?item=2357 It does seem a bit over the top, but at least they are adding jobs..

    Wikipedia..
Nike has been criticized for contracting with factories (known as Nike sweatshops) in countries such as China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Mexico. Vietnam Labor Watch, an activist group, has documented that factories contracted by Nike have violated minimum wage and overtime laws in Vietnam as late as 1996, although Nike claims that this practice has been stopped. The company has been subject to much critical coverage of the often poor working conditions and exploitation of cheap overseas labor employed in the free trade zones where their goods are typically manufactured. Sources for this criticism include Naomi Klein’s book No Logo and Michael Moore documentaries.
