circletrackParticipant
Very cool, thanks for sharing these!
circletrackParticipantI’m a firm believer that many of those “charity” auction cars have stories behind them we will never know.
circletrackParticipantI’d love to go through Hendrick Motorsports.. Rick always buys great cars and sold quite a few this year too, let alone the first class racing facility located there
circletrackParticipantWe haven’t been to this show in years, but I do remember it being a big show. I think someone new took over this year, resulting in some changes?
circletrackParticipantLove the Monte, you don’t see those cars anymore.
circletrackParticipant99.9% sure it’s June 23, but Sgt. Hoff can say for sure
circletrackParticipantWe also had a great time today! I was a bit worried when we left last night, and pleasantly surprised this morning to see the place filled out. I commend Rob & his staff for putting on a show with 3 months notice. We all know it’s very, very expensive to do anything at the Alliant Center and although I don’t think he came anywhere close to breaking even, I’m hoping everything learned today will get put into place for a great show next year.
Ryan, I agree with your comments on keeping things automotive related, but not everyone comes to these shows to see the cars. I heard more than one person say they could care less about the race cars and tractors, and others say they loved seeing them up close. I also agree with moving the show closer to spring, but then you have to worry about good weather and other events. I think we lucked out today in that the weather was crappy, if it would’ve been 80 and sunny, the place would’ve been empty. Several of the Road Apples were interested in bringing their cars, but everything is still in storage.
Parking and concessions drive me nuts. I’ve been attending events there since I can remember and never understand why parking continues to go up and up… We were lucky that we could bring our own food and drink in, that never happens. I refuse to pay for items that are extremely overpriced.
It was great to see so many of our “car” nuts that we haven’t seen most of the winter, and this show helped break up the long months we’ve been subjected to. Again, well done!
circletrackParticipantI like the way you think!
circletrackParticipantThanks Rob, looking forward to the show!
circletrackParticipantWhere are you coming from?
circletrackParticipantMe too.. let’s hope the forecast is correct for the next week!
circletrackParticipantI did also, and got a read response from Rep. Fitzgerald, let’s hope this helps!
circletrackParticipantTook mine out of storage today, planning on the first cruise of 2012 tomorrow night! Loving this!
circletrackParticipantI thought you were going to let Justin handle it this year? I prefer Saturday shows, sorry we won’t be able to join you this year.. big group going to Back to the 50’s that weekend
When is Albany having their show??
circletrackParticipantYes I remember hearing about that and watching it online.. don’t think it’s worth that much, but you never know. From time to time The Price is Right does some nutty stuff, hard to believe that show is still on the air after all these years!
