GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Quote:Well it looks like the thunderbird is done. Personally I think that ford did a poor job on the new thunderbirds, I would have preferred that they bring a little more of the styling back from the old t-birds than they did.
I have a ’93 in great condition. I realize that it isn’t
worth a fortune, but it’s still a nice looking car.I wouldn’t mind having a ’65! The styling is nice.
But I have one problem………no place to keep it!!!Yeah I wouldn’t mind having a couple classics too, now that they aren’t going to be made anymore the value of the old ones will just keep going up.

Very nice!
Welcome to the forum BTW!! Great to have you here.I’d have to say my dream car is this:
or this:
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Oh crap… I just noticed I was the 13th member to join, and on the 13th of March! 😯 (actually it’s still the 12th here in Iowa, so maybe it won’t be so bad after all).haha, yeah that’s werid! At least its saturday and not friday! 😯
Its still the 12th here too, the clocks are messed up on the site now, do you know how much + or – off of the GMT Central US Time is?GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Excellent start to what looks like will become a great website! GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Earl ScheibeI don’t even know if he’s still in business!
We used to paint our own cars. I won’t tell you
how LONG ago that was! We used acrylic lacquer.Sometimes we would be in the garage throughout the night
wet-sanding. But the results were something else!!!Seems like not very many guys are doing that anymore.
Most just hand over the cash and let somebody else do it.The others are busy on the internet starting their own forums!
You guys need some time for yourselves. Computers can
drive you nuts…………..but I guess cars can too!Especially when somebody hits your car just after you finished
painting it. That happened a few times.*cough* I don’t know who that could be that’s starting their own forum *cough*. 😆
I agree with you, alot of people are having their cars painted rather than doing it themselves. The results are fantastic though!
Cars and computers are both things you can obsess about, just take everything in moderation (like being a moderator). 😆
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Shadow57 – Yes indeed. Nothing like a little Armorall gloss formula to make those tires look newGaribaldi – Yes. I couldn’t help myself.
The paint looks nice in the picture, but it was crap paint. Horrible. It started flaking off – I suspect they didn’t even prime it or if they did, they gave it a coat of mineral oil before spraying the paint on. It was that bad. I had to touch up the paint every week …. 😥
That’s really too bad about your paint! I guess the only way to really fix that permanently is strip it down, prime it, and paint it again. What a waste of work doing it 1/2 way without primer!
GaribaldiKeymasterSo Cap it looks like you finally broke down and decided to post the pictures eh?
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:Nice site! I’m afraid that there is very little I can contribute to your forum, so I will keep my bandwidth use to a bare minimum.I am Cobra, a moderator at a couple of other websites Garibaldi is a member of. That’s how I came to know him. Hopefully I will meet more people as decent as him through this site too!
Cobra
Welcome Cobra! Glad to see that you’ve made it! I think that you will be more of an asset to this site than you give yourself credit for, after all you just got your new car!
Anyway see you around the forum!
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:I find it very interesting that back then, it was obvious the advatage with the turning headlights on the Tucker , now it is just starting to come back.Yeah I find that interesting too, it was so far ahead of its time yet it was rejected, not to mention the aerodynamic design besides. The turning headlights idea that the Tucker pioneered just make sense.
GaribaldiKeymasterThere I got it, I had the size off a little at first but now it looks pretty good.
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:you can just overwrite the current logo by uploading a image named logo_phpBB.gif to forum/templates/subsilver/images/ I think that’s the correct path, you may want to look. If not it’s similar.Alright I’ll give that a try.
What about the user registration thing?
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:I cringe whenever I think about the Tucker because I
had a chance to buy one VERY cheap about 35 years ago. That was before the movie was made with Jeff Bridges.
Oh well, like they say, you snooze you lose.
I hate to think what that car would be worth today.
I’ve always hoped that it was a mis-print in the advert that I saw.
I don’t think a Tucker would be advertised in a local paper. Seems like
they would all be spoken for.Whenever I go for a drive in the country I see some nice cars slowly
rusting away in the fields.Unfortunately the farmers know EXACTLY
what those rusted hulks are worth!WOW!!!!! I bet you feel like this sometimes! :banghead: :banghead: :violent1: :violent1: :violent3: :violent3:
I think tuckers are bringing around $350,000 now! I heard about a guy who heard on a radio show that an old lady wanted under $1,000 for a cuda and a charger, he couldn’t believe his ears!!! He bought them and sold the charger at barrett-jackson, imagine how happy he is now!
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:That’s not a phpbb mod that’s a coalman mod. That’s for any page really, it creates a static left column for your pages and a fluid right column for content. like here http://www.coaldelivery.com resize your display settings and you’ll see the page adjusts.Oh ok, I see what your saying, the menubar (or sidebar) is in a different frame or something that adjusts to your resolution. Is this really an issue in my site as far as being able to view it in different resolutions other than 1024×768?
Thanks again!GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:It’s for any html document. If you look in your phpbb folder/templates/subsilver/overall_header.tpl .This is the the main document that generates the top portion of all pages served up for your forum. You’ll see the CSS code is right in the document. There’s directions for making external like I have done above. You do that after you have made any changes to the formatting in the php CP though.
You can put the css code right in any document but if you put it in an exteranl document it save bandwidth. Not very important for you but if you have a site like videohelp it can add up to quite a bit.
I’ll take a look at that overall_header and see what I want to modify in it. I would like to change the phpbb logo in the top left corner to a car picture… Also would it be possible (not for this forum but just for reference) to remove the register button so no more users can register?
