After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

haha you know whats great about that Lincoln, I got it started, insured, registered, drove it exactly 5.2 miles then it stopped shifting gears properly. Exasperated I drove it home and parked it, and now it won’t start! I don’t think it was the hot rod driving style that lead “pappy” to drinkin I think it was the damn repair bills on that Lincoln! Know what you mean about dull weekends (except they are all now filled with work at the new job) and cue in the cold weather.

Glad you decided to join the forum, and to evade the risk of being accused of hijacking this thread to complain about my Town Car I will chip in my two cents re: judging. I have seen well done judged shows (Pardeeville) and not so great judged shows. I think participant judged shows add interest to the mix and can allow cars that would not otherwise win to be recognized, but at the same time that style judging seems more prone to problems. I do prefer judged shows because the core idea is a fair competition between comparable year or style cars. The number one problem I see at shows of either style is poor class layout and without a good class foundation, any show that gives awards will likely have problems. I’ll admit that I deliberately go to more shows that are judged in some form than not but as long as I can score a dash plaque I’m usually happy.

Hey I know all about that Reedsburg show, there was a pretty sweet 88 Buick there the same color as your K-car in that same class… nice ride if you ask me, and hey I even got the Lincoln running so I might not need to drive the Buick in the salt as much lol. About time you joined this forum, did you see you can rate all those shows you mentioned here to? Welcome aboard!

Do my eyes deceive me or is that last picture in sequence a Cadillac Coupe de Ville, maybe even a 90 model at a car show with collector plates….never thought I would see the day another car like mine would be at a show. I need to see this car!

Don’t ask me how he did it but the information has been merged together from the two listings so it all worked out. Planning on heading to any shows this weekend or has the Chevy gone back into hibernation for the Winter already?

the info for the south wayne show is listed on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Black-Hawk-Cruisers/267998623223961 and I have attached the flyer below. Sounds like a possibility for me!

It might be easiest that way but I did send a message to the site administrator so if there is an easier way he’ll let me know and I’ll pass that on to you. Photo attachments need to be under a certain file size limit to work so if you take photos with something like a cell phone camera they should be small enough just to add where it says upload photos at the bottom of the screen, after you click “add a new listing”. If you have a digital camera and windows xp you can just left click the photos you want and resize them to get them to work (I resize to 1280×1024) for my 14 mp camera. There are ways to get this capability in vista and windows 7 as well.

Many of us from in and around the Madison area have come to know each other after talking at multiple shows and it would be nice to meet you as well. I recall seeing your car but you weren’t there at the time and I try to take a photo of every car at the show to later upload to the photo gallery on here, so I’m usually not at my car very long, but there are a lot of good people to meet running the car show circuit. Perhaps I’ll see you at the next one but in any event I’ll let you know about the show rating once I hear back.

whoops, so I started creating a listing to rate this show an hour ago and then got up to run and errand, came back, and finished posting another review of this same show under a different “rate the show” listing….I’ll contact the administrator and see if there is a way to merge the information all together unless you know a way?

I spoke with the shows organizer the other day and he said the show runs early because several other events are going to overwhelm the small town from 10am on so it would be hard just to get into village park later than that. He recommended arriving by 9am but I’m shooting for 9:30am (not a morning person!) He said past shows ranged anywhere from 40-180+ cars dependent upon the weather.

“NICE PIC OF MY CAR ADAM!!!!” Thanks, the car lends itself well to photography as do the new Camaros in my experience.

Thanks for the info moparkid25, with the seeming lack of shows remaining in the year in this area I may just head to South Wayne to get my auto show fix lol. Looking at Marshall this weekend (just need to remember to pick up some non-perishable food items for registration), you have any shows in mind for the near future?
