montefrazerParticipant
A Star Wars fan from the beginning here. I still remember watching that Star Destroyer go on forever across the screen the first time I went to see the original movie at the theater. Waiting for the new movie too. I have all the movies and most of the books.
montefrazerParticipantHope we haven’t scared you off with that welcome Flan. Sometimes we’re just excitable wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif and redundant. wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif wave.gif
montefrazerParticipantthe Osbournes. No matter how bad you think you are, watching Ozzy will put it all in perspective.
montefrazerParticipantNow we’re getting into “Back to the Future” territory. icon_wink.gif
montefrazerParticipantI’m not surprised it’s being canceled. I think they should have connected to the original series era with the story lines more instead of this time travel war that wasn’t in any of the other series. This was supposed to be the lead in to the Federation and Kirk’s “Boldly going where no man has gone before” 5 year mission. They are going this direction now, two episode alternate universe story, but it’s too late. I never used to miss an episode of the past series but now if I miss an episode, it’s not important. I think the franchise needs to take a break and think about what to do next. Lucas hasn’t told great stories with Star Wars 1+2 but he has kept to the story line and showed how things led to the original movie, part 4. I hope part 3 will tie up the loose ends.
montefrazerParticipantYup, 5:30 AM-5:30 PM. We actually did pretty good despite the weather. The vendors must have been happy because they sold a lot. I got two tailights to a 1973 Camro & Three Tires That Will fit my car. I’ll probaby show to Waukesha too. Hi Montefrazer

Midgrade 89 octane – $2.31
Premium unleaded 93 octane – $2.41
Racing fuel 110 octane – $4.25
Milwaukee/Racine area just starting to drop to those prices. Local station was $2.28 for 87 octane when I went to work and $2.21 when I came home. Haven’t priced racing fuel lately.
montefrazerParticipantThere were two buildings open to go in and warm up. One serves food and drinks. Most of it was outside. Dress for conditions or suffer the consequences. w00t.gif
montefrazerParticipantNext will probably be Waukesha on May 22 if the weather is good. I may go to Belvidere, Illinois on May 21 if the weatherman calls for rain Sunday and not Saturday.
montefrazerParticipantLaverne and Shirley. Wisconsin connection, sort of. icon_cool.gif
montefrazerParticipantQuote:I have driven a manual most of the three years I have been driving. However, I did drive an auto for a few days – it was a lot of fun trying it out but I think I prefer a manual. Automatics are an easier drive, but a manual is more satisfying.Am I correct in saying that automatic gearboxes are more prevalant in the USA than manuals? Manuals account for the majority of cars here in the UK.
I am a member of the Almera Owners’ Club, and I’ve been reading about a lot. I have seen it mentioned several times that the Almera gearbox is the weakest part of the car, and the synchro can wear easily causing problems. My gearbox oil has done almost 50,000 miles without a change, so I’m looking at buying the very best oil to try to protect it.
Enough rambling. Manual gets my vote! icon_biggrin.gif
You are correct about manuals being rare here. Only a small percentage are stick shift. It is usually an extra cost option.
montefrazerParticipantI like going there. It’s about an hour drive and I get to see parts that come from people that don’t go to Wisconsin. Nice way to spend a morning.
montefrazerParticipantI didn’t know there was a sequel. I’ll try to find it the next time I’m in a book store. Do you know if it’s still in print or will I need to check used book stores?
montefrazerParticipantThe monks were just the keepers of knowledge. They tried to change things after the first war, but just set the stage for it to happen again. Is this an unbreakable cycle? The next chapter of the human race is left up to the imagination.
montefrazerParticipantThanks, now I remember the plot better. Mankind is doomed to reach a level of technical ability and then destroy itself, except for a small group that starts the cycle over again.
