I too have wondered about the TV thing in ’09. To be honest, I really haven’t heard much of it, maybe that’s because I don’t have either or?

Both of my TV’s are 10 years old, will I have to upgrade if I have dish? I’m moving to my new house in the spring and was thinking of getting a dish…

I think it will also be remembered that impractical cars built to only do one thing, go fast in a straight line, went from being unpopular gas guzzlers to million dollar investments. I mean how many Daytona Chargers and Superbirds sat on lots for months because they were funny looking and impractical?

Months? If the dealer was lucky, some sat on dealer lots for years!!! I have an article in a Chrysler book that was written in 1972 and tells about how dealers would remove the wings and nosecones then sell the cars as regular chargers and roadrunners just to get rid of them.

A lot of the new GM vehicles come with remote start, I haven’t seen any problems with the factory equipment yet. I know AMS and Radio Doctor install aftermarket units, AMS charges around $300 to install I think.

I saw a blurb on the news about how Madison’s streets weren’t getting plowed. I figure the left over hippies that didn’t become professors at the UW they call a city government didn’t want to harm the earth by letting those plow trucks burn fuel and cause more global warming… dontknow.gif

I was disappointed at the MOPAR happening in Belvidere, IL this year. It was a participant judged show, and during the awards presentation there were way too many people with ‘staff’ shirts on winning awards. I kinda felt that everybody was voting for there buddy (which usually happens at a participant judged show) and not judging the cars.

I’m curious if there will be a MOPAR show at Don Miller again this year, I’ve heard rumor that they will only have the Pontiac these days because the numbers for the MOPAR show aren’t very strong. Anybody got info on this?

I won’t attend Blanchardville if it’s hot again this year, that was just too much.

I’m sure there’s others, but I can’t think of them.

Trophies are nice, some of the shows give exceptional awards now. I also like money if given in the right situation. We have quite a few trophies collected now from over the last 20+ years of showing cars on and off.[/quote]

Global warming hit it’s peak in 1998 (actually mid 1930’s) according to some experts. So I am off to the back yard with three cases of spray cans loaded with CFC’s. LOL

Good, I’m on my way with 3 cans of Aqua Net hairspray. Then we can kill the ozone together wave.gif

This storm has been the absolute worst I have ever plowed in. My 3/4 ton Chevy work truck with a Boss V-Plow was not heavy enough to break through the ice on top of the snow! I plowed for a total of 10 hours and still couldn’t get the lot clean. I had one of my customers in today who owns a excavation company, we got talking and I made the comment “Can I borrow an End Loader?” An hour later he had three of his guys up to help, 2 bobcats and an Endloader!!! That big monster even had problems digging up the ice/snow. Some of our used cars were literally froze to the pavement and we couldn’t move them!!

This sucks. I’ve never thought more about moving South than I have in the last two days…

The additional markup above MSRP is at the dealers’ discretion. We sell our Z06 Corvettes for sticker, and not mark them up. Personally, I think marking up a car that’s already $75k is ridiculous dontknow.gif

Another factor (at least for GM) is you get first dibs on new models by the amount of inventory you move a year. The big dealers will have the cars before your mom & pop dealers. Then, because there the only place with one around, they think they can corner the market and make some extra jing on the deal.

I don’t mind the snow, but this freezing rain is BS.

AMC’s and Buick’s have never gotten the credit they deserved.

    I agree.

Mopars were cheap, POS cars back in the day, GM cars were definately a better built car. I’m not much of a Ford guy, so I’ll leave that topic alone. I agree that there are way too many people that think there mopar’s are worth its weight in gold (and some may think I’m one of those people). Anything Hemi or 440+6 (clone or not) is going to pull some serious cash in a sale or auction. I’m suprised that 440+6 cars don’t bring more than they do as they were a better, more streetable engine. But nowadays the 454 Chevelles are doing the same. The reason I think the Chevelle is over-rated is every GM A body looks the same with the exception of grilles and taillights. Four GM carlines produced models that strike a resemblence. Now, Mopar’s also shared chassis’s, but the RoadRunner looks nothing like a Charger or a Superbee. The Challenger and Cuda I will admit carry similar looks.

    Can’t go wrong with a ’68 or ’69 Charger (w/the General Lee package)…

    thumbsup.gif

I wouldn’t mind a General Lee, but I would have to build one and have it my way, which would be correct. I see too many of them done cheap and incorrect, and have only seen two that were done right to match the vehicle on the show. However, with any mopar, the engine bay needs to be body color, not spray-bombed black!!! None of these cheap, aftermarket steering wheels, and the interior must be tan. I could go on but I need to taper off now, thanks Al Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

    Marshall,

Wait a year. Let all the other suckers buy the first year and get the kinks worked out. Plus, they will probably offer more appealing packages like a T/A theme, etc. down the road. thumbsup.gif
