Gonna go to Goodguys and pay $13 per person to look at the cars, and $5 to park on Saturday I guess.
moparkid25ParticipantThompson and McCarthy won’t go down in history with Favre, when he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame it will be Holmgren and Ron Wolf that get the mention with Brett.
Aaron Rodgers was Thompson’s first hire, therefore he can do no wrong with the office. Rodgers is Thompson and McCarthy’s only chance to go down in history. I won’t even get started on the 5-year contract extensions these d-bags got after Favre “retired”…
If the guy wants to play, he should play. Wether its for the Packers or not, he’s doing what he wants. I salute him for that.
moparkid25ParticipantTed Thompson and Mike McCarthy are idiots. Aaron Rodgers was second string for a reason, and that’s because he sucks. He couldn’t barely complete any passes during a scrimage, what’s he gonna do when he’s actually gotta play? I’d personally rather see Craig Nall get the 1st string position.
Yes, Brett did retire. Yes, he led the fans on for three years. But if you retired and wanted to come back to work, would you be happy if someone tried to keep you retired?
Personally, I think McCarthy wanted Favre gone. I’m gonna run right out and get me a Jets jersey the first chance I get!
moparkid25ParticipantI gotta attend my annual family reunion in Rio on sunday BangHead.gif
July 29, 2008 at 4:21 pm in reply to: Don Miller All Makes Car Show and the Belleville Show…… #32512moparkid25ParticipantHaven’t heard anything on the Belleville show. My partner at work here lives there, I’ll ask him if he knows anything…
moparkid25ParticipantNone for me again, got a lot of chores to get caught up on crybaby2.gif
moparkid25ParticipantThe Camaro was supposed to be in showrooms this fall. We had an IDL the other day and you can expect to see them about march 2009. It will be a 2010 model
:gears:
I’m tempted to order myself a V8 one… :yikes:
moparkid25ParticipantI forget the name of the place that was in the building in Mazo where the printer is, but that company went under a few years before.
moparkid25ParticipantI plan on attending East Washington Ave at night for some :gears: and some :nos: and some more :gears:
moparkid25ParticipantMonroe also has there final Dairy Queen/66 cruise in this Saturday night. They do this every Saturday in July, I went last week after I got home from Reedsburg and it was a good time. I got to see alot of cars you don’t see at shows.
The best burnout I saw was by a Jeep Cherokee :gears:
Don’t know if I’ll make it, the bar I used to work at is having it’s last night of business Saturday. I should go get a snoot full
moparkid25ParticipantTalk to Al at Keystone over by Freightliner (Hwy 51 and CV). I wanna say they can rechrome bumpers for around $250 each.
There’s also another place in Dubuque that does chrome work. Not sure on the name, but they do really good work. Problem is they really take there time. I know a guy from the local show circuit that sent his bumpers down there….talked to him at Pardeeville last year and he didn’t have them back after almost a year
moparkid25ParticipantNone for me this weekend either (and it’s pretty obvious we all know I wouldn’t waste my time going to the HOH show).
Kinda nice to have a weekend off, get caught up on a few things and get a couple of cars fixed thumbsup.gif
moparkid25ParticipantQuote:As for July 26th…House of Horsepower Show!!! icon_vomit1.gifI personally wouldn’t waste my time giving these clowns my money or the time of day.
I also have cut back on a lot of shows. When I first got into showing, I went to every one I could fit in, every cruise night, etc. But like all things, I started to get burnt out. I still enjoy the hobby, but have cut back on what I do. The cost of fuel has played a part this year. I also have found that I like to get other things done on the weekends along with be lazy. Owning your own small business along with working full-time cuts into your free time also.
Blanchardville was the first noticeable show I’ve been to this year that was down in attendance. I think it’s a trend and Eclipse may be right, the events in the world today may be a tipping point for the car hobby. I certainly hope not, but I also hoped gas would never be $2 a gallon.
moparkid25ParticipantQuote:As a regular at most of southeast Wisconsin car shows it has become apparent to me that something is lost. I remember back when there were very few weekly car shows. A cruise to A&W on South 27th street was something to look forward to. The fun of it was being able to spend a fun night with car nuts. Getting to know new people and most of all talking about cars. Who is building what. Who is having carb problems and just how excited everyone was to offer advise or parts or what ever it took to help out. I do not once remember thinking twice about the restaurant it self. Was it clean? Was it a dive? Was the food good? Was the service good or bad? What do I get for free for showing up there? We were just happy to have a place to drive 45 minutes to where we knew we could talk about cars. What I am hearing more and more now is who’s car show is the best, who gives out more, who has the best food, who gets me my food the fastest. All of these weekly car show choices should be looked at as a blessing to all of us car nuts. Instead it has become a political mess. I am not going there cause Joe Shmoe hangs out there and my best friends neighbors uncle says that he is a jerk. Or I am not going there; they only give out small sodas instead of chocolate malts. The conversations are shifting from car talk to complaining about the venue. We have places that graciously invite us in almost every night of the week and instead of being thankful the talk is all about how rich this or that business owner is getting because we give them the privilege of showing up with our cars. Pitiful!
Now for the best one of all. The CLIQUES. Each one of these various car shows has slowly become cliquey, some to the point of driving away those that are first time visitors. Planted in lawn chairs not willing to move an inch to let an unknown in to a tight spot or loudly coughing to mock the exhaust smell while someone is backing into a spot. Or just plain ignoring new comers. Or blatantly ignoring an owner or employee at these sites when asked to park in a certain spot or any other set rules for that matter. It is time to get off the high horse and realize that your car is just another car, special to you but still just another car so how about all of the cliques and snobs and complainers with cars that are better then everyone else’s STAY HOME AND QUIT YOUR DARN COMPLAINING and lets get back to going to shows to talk about cars and promoting the hobby as a fun family wholesome sport where we appreciate our fellow cruisers and the establishments that welcome us!After reading your post, I have to say that you obviously have some kind of disorder with people at car shows. I’m not sure where you attend, but being tagged with the nickname “Car show’s most hated” by people who don’t like me and the wrecking crew I run with, I can only sense (and I may be wrong) you are a Tobacco Days committee member, helping with the Edgerton show, or someone who doesn’t have jack spit and is jealous of everyone else.
I agree that there are a lot of jerks at shows, some think I am one. But your calling everyone who attends arrogant. I do not see them as cliques, they are car clubs – made up of people who enjoy the same thing you do, cars.
Is it wrong to be competitive at a show? No one wants to hurt anybody’s feelings anymore in fear they may not come back. Crap. A $12 trophy may not mean anything to you, but it may symbolize an achievement to the person winning the award.
I could kick someone in the genitals and it wouldn’t cost me a dime, but it sure would mean something, wouldn’t it?
Off my soapbox, you’ve got my two cents. icon_headbang.gif
moparkid25ParticipantQuote:I was preregistered for Edgerton, but Im no longer going after seeing the new format. There are plenty other shows to attend that day instead.Yeah, I think this show is going to see a low turnout if things don’t change, or a lot of upset people who attended with a car. I’m anxious to see the “rate the show” thread when it’s all over.
