Rate The Cruise Night:
Accessibility (easy to get to):AParking Location: A
Entertainment:A/B; I would rather see the speakers outside pointing in; it was kinda loud in a garage area and the bartender was having issues hearing folks.
Food: A
Prizes:A/B. I would like to see a ticket drawing for the prizes for the car owners.
Timing (day/hours): A. Perfect.
Variety of Cars (week-to-week): very nice for the first week. Mustangs to Camero’s to Prowlers to vipers to rods to vettes to T-birds …
Suggestions:
1. have at least 2 bartenders in the garage area2. sell bottled water and bottle pop (nicer for walking around chatting)
2. move the speakers (or at least 1 speaker) outside
3. maybe -1-3 times during the night review the shows happening for the weekend over the speaker system
4. as it grows with more cars have a couple of trash cans outside
5. number the cars for the plaque drawing?
6. If the managers know one of the car owners that is going to a show on the weekend, maybe they could borrow a stand and sign to promote the cruise in at the car show the owner would be attending,
7. a sign on the wall listing the drink specials?
Overall Rating: A

My only suggestion is take the cars for sale to the next level. Allow the folks that are coming for sure to submit a write-up and photos of their car. Email address, or phone numbers would be listed with it after the show has ended and then keep the cars up for like 4 weeks. Also offer, for a fee, a day of show listing in which you can hand over a write-up and the Jefferson folks will snap a photo of car. Finally each car listed on the site would have a number as a reference. That way, for the person who wants to think about it, they have a reference to go back too…

Amigo2kModeratorQuote:I checked out their website and found this in a pdf:For a preview of the show, organizers plan to have a classic car parked on the Capitol Square for
the Dane County Farmers’ Market the Saturday mornings of April 21 and May 5.Well I made it up to the square at about 9:30 to pick up some jerky, cheese curds and honey and I checked all the streets around the capitol and down parts of State St. and I saw no classic car promoting the show ….

April 20, 2007 at 7:29 pm in reply to: Attempting To Start Your Car After a Long Winter’s Nap?????? #29554Amigo2kModeratorDone. It worked prefect for me today.
I got to step 5 and she fired right up with a nice puff of white smoke (leak down from sitting). It ran for about 5 seconds and then died…
I turned the key and got nothing (no sounds, like a dead starter). I tried again and again, nothing (this has happened before and usually if I let it sit for 5 minutes it will start right up). Then I jacked it up and then took a hammer and tapped on the starter solenoid. Then I tried to start it again and she fired right up! I gave it a little gas for about 1 minute and then she idled smooth as butter.
On my way home from Lake WI (it was a great morning for a cruise) I stopped by QSL for lunch (to thank my buddy who drove up with me) and I noticed they have lots of nice signs for the cruise in starting next week (which was great to see).
A print off of this start up method now has a permanent home in my VW’s glove box.
thanks!
Amigo2kModerator1955 REO Civil Defense Truck – $5200
1955 REO Civil Defense Truck: This truck was originally set up as a rescue truck for Civil Defense during the cold war. It has several compartments built into the sides, and more storage including several shelves inside. The previous owner used it as part of a home health care business.
The chassis is a REO model F22B with a GVW of 20,000 pounds. The engine is a REO model OH200 6-cylinder, and it is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The truck has approximately 80,000 original miles, and it runs good. The dual rear tires are 10.00 x 20, and the front tires are 9.00 x 20. All are mounted on 6-hole Budd wheels. In addition, there is a spare tire mounted underneath the truck.
I am listing this truck for a friend of mine who is a REO collector and retired truck driver. He said that this truck runs good, and can be driven anywhere. If you have any specific questions feel free to call him. His name is Clary, and you can reach him at 608-241-2312. His asking price is $5200.
