circletrackParticipant
there is lots of salt where I live… the town had to lay it down REALLY thick last weekend.. just give me a nice rain to wash it away and I’d consider getting the Chevelle out of hibernation!
circletrackParticipantGood to hear, thanks!
I know there are a couple in the Madison area also.
circletrackParticipantMerry Christmas to you all!
circletrackParticipantAgree with all that’s been said here. I may not like your import, or the loud music you play (or the porn I’ve seen more than once at shows), but that’s what you like and I respect that. One day the hot rods and muscle cars we see today will unfortunately be gone, or handed down to a generation who could care less about them ~ enjoy it now!
circletrackParticipantI’ll admit I’ve never heard of most of those towns. I imagine they are very small and unfortunately closing the post office could also damage the town beyond repair. A shame!
circletrackParticipantHardly use the post office anymore.. pay all our bills online and rarely mail anything. Stopping Saturday delivery would be no big deal to me.
circletrackParticipantThere are several revolving doors in Nascar every year… both Busch brothers have made very poor decisions this year and it’s bitten Kurt this time. No one wants to deal with a driver who cannot control his temper, and these two are fine examples of that. Kurt is supposedly in counseling for his anger, but has many personal issues that also cause problems on and off the track.
Tony Stewart is a great guy, you cannot even compare the two. I’ve met/seen Tony several times through the years and you couldn’t ask for a nicer guy who appreciates what he has, his fans and so much more. As for his crew chief, that change was set in stone before the chase was even started and Darian Grubb knew that. Yes, Tony won a championship with him, but he’s looking to go in a different direction in 2012 with a new crew chief. Changes happen often and quickly, it’s great to get a ride in Nascar, just don’t count on it last forever with the same people/team.
circletrackParticipantWe don’t use anything in our cars, but then mine sits in heated storage all winter too.
circletrackParticipantI have also seen several suits against them, how unfortunate.
circletrackParticipantDONK!
circletrackParticipantJust a reminder.. businesses OPEN every day too!
I don’t think Cub Foods closed overnight either, have you been to the store lately? Last time I was there, it was like a ghost town. Hyvee opening certainly didn’t help, and with Woodmans and Walmart making changes in Sun Prairie, how many grocery stores can compete? Sentry will be next, let the blaming begin!
circletrackParticipantWhat a cruiser, that’s kinda cool!
circletrackParticipantFrom the Sun Prairie Star ~
Brown Shoe Company, Inc. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 provided an update on its previously announced portfolio realignment and plans to close its Sun Prairie distribution center in 2012.
The closing of the facility will be a phased process, which is expected to begin in January and conclude in April, according to a company press release.
During this time, functionality will be moving to other locations, as the company works to reduce excess capacity in its retail distribution network.
“This decision was based on the result of changes in our industry and our continued portfolio realignment efforts, which are focused on shifting resources to our strategic consumer platforms,” said Mike Kauffman, senior vice president of global supply chain management for Brown Shoe Company, said in the press release.
“The decision to close this facility is in no way a reflection of the skills and abilities of the Sun Prairie team.”
In April 2008, company officials voiced confidence in the Sun Prairie facility after moving its headquarters from Madison to St. Louis.
I don’t recall the previous administration working too hard to keep Famous Footwear in Madison. He showed no interest in keeping the company in WI, other states fought to bring Famous Footwear and jobs to their state as they had leaders who worked for the best for their state and its residence. Famous Footwear is not the first or last to leave WI and it’s time to stop blaming one person for everything..
Think of the people who have worked at the distribution center for years and now need to try and find a job, I would not want to be in their shoes. We should all be thankful for the job we have.
circletrackParticipantPretty sure this has nothing to do with Walker… more like a Corporate decision ~ things can be made cheaper somewhere else. What a bummer for everyone that works there, and Sun Prairie.
circletrackParticipantI disagree with banning the cellphones.. several people have to use them for their jobs.. A little common sense goes a long way when using the phones. I’ll never understand why someone needs to be on their phone that early in the morning (I see it everyday), or in many other places ~ the doctors office, grocery store and so on. Sometimes I wish we could go back to the days of everyone having a phone at home
Texting worries me more, even though it’s banned, people still do it every day.
