See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Best show for me this year: Beaver Dam. It is well run, good judges, and timely.

Biggest annoyance: Year restrictions on shows. By limiting years, you are only hampering future growth.

I think next year we will try to hit different shows in different areas.

There is a difference between a judging sheet and a score sheet. The score sheet is much more helpful as it lists the scores of all cars in that class.

Personally, the only times I have asked for sheets were for national shows like WoW and HIN so I could see what areas I needed to improve on and to get a better feel on what the judges were looking for.

The only other time I asked for a sheet was at Fox Lake due to botched judging (which is why there isnt late model imports at that show now).

But honestly, seeing a judging sheet on its own after a show is almost completely pointless in all actuality…because jonmandude is right, it wont change anything in the long run.

There is a place in Beaver Dam…begins with an S, but I cant remember it (its a guy’s last name). He does good work and is relatively inexpensive.

But for the amount of work it seems like the project involves…you are going to have a hard time finding a place to do it that cheaply. Even Maco wont take it down to metal for that price.

I like Brad Kesolowski’s stance on the matter: “Its so hard to get a seat in this series, dont F it up by taking supplements and such. Just work out, eat right, and drive the damn car.”

Its pretty safe to say that one little pill cost him his professional career, as the chances of him getting a good ride again are gone.

Ive been playing bass guitar for about 5 years off and on. And I too love the styles of Metallica and Black Sabbath.

Just wondering if any forum members went to this show, I would like to read a rate the show so I can plan my next trip there in 2027.

    AHAHAHAHAHHA.

    Sorry, but that was funny.

Since Fox Lake now has a year cut-off so that no newer vehicles are allowed, we’ll be heading to the Tally-ho show.

    Ive driven a Volt…hated it.

The Leaf we test drove was ok.

    The Prius is proven.

    But the Tesla looks sweet.

The judges spend a decent amount of time at my car. I do know that they walk the park in the morning to try to get a heads up on where cars in their classes are parked…Also, after talking to Brian, they were trying to speed up judging due to the huge amount of cars (double from the year before).

Not that that justifies or is an excuse…but things do happen.
