I agree I think the economy is a factor. Also it seems to go in waves too – one year there are few shows and then the next year there seem to be a lot more shows and then not all of them can be supported so the number drops off the following year.
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:I’m thinking about hitting up the Watertown show on Sunday.Me too probably
GaribaldiKeymasterSure glad to help! I’ve sent out email to some contacts to see if anyone is familiar with such a study
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:I’m planning on going minus my car.Me too
GaribaldiKeymasterNothing for me either I’m gonna be on vacation
GaribaldiKeymasterI’m excited too, it looks like a great “new” muscle car with a fantastic design!
GaribaldiKeymasterHi Tanc,
Welcome to the forum! If you want to get the specific ratings, simple do this:
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:For me the cruise nights and car shows are about the people, with the cars as a back drop and common interest that we all share. I am not a trophy person (though I have won a couple) and I do not attend with awards in mind. I meet friends.Great point Jon and to all others who have echoed this. Ultimately the people are the ones that make or break the show. The cars are of course the shared interest.
GaribaldiKeymasterRaising our already high taxes isn’t a good idea. I think more proper management is one way to help cut costs. For instance, I believe it was the first or second big snow we had this winter and they drained all of our supplies of salt and sand for the streets – management of something like this would result in more efficient and less costly use
GaribaldiKeymasterSounds cool RivMan, let us know how it turns out! thumbsup.gif
GaribaldiKeymasterSounds like a good time at Blanchardville once you found your way there. As usual it was the hottest show of the year (or close to it) sunny.gif
GaribaldiKeymasterPriceless! w00t.gif
GaribaldiKeymasterSpecific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – A – although the signs were kind of small
Parking Location – C – nice but the grass had clippings on it and could have been shorter
Class Organization – A
Trophies & Prizes – A – many door prizes throughout the day
Food – B – good for the short notice they had, that makes it tough!
Entertainment – A – good variety of music, not “the usual”
Judging – A – participant
Dash Plaque – N/A
Variety of Cars – A – quite a few for a first time show
Bathrooms – A – clean and inside
Weather – A
Trophy Presentation Timing – N/A didn’t stay
Entry Fee – A+ only $5
Overall Rating:A-I was very impressed by this show – it was very high quality and well organized for a first year show and it was clearly popular judging by the number and variety of cars. It was also nice to meet up with so many car show friends whom I hadn’t seen much this year and chat. I look forward to this show again next year!
GaribaldiKeymasterI have a feeling this will be a slow week for cruise nights everywhere and car shows especially on saturday because Iola is so huge and will certainly draw cars away from their normal events
GaribaldiKeymasterQuote:It looks they are still adding stuff to the new calendar on QSL website.Yeah their site is not done yet, hopefully sometime soon
