I also went out to Blue Chip on Saturday – great cars! That was a nice Impala outside, it was a good weekend for an open house and good practice for Jefferson next weekend. They had a lot of very nice cars inside as well, the Chevelles were beautiful and it was nice to see that white corvette again. I missed the picture of that Coronet, Marshall. It sounds like that’s gone through quite the transformation!

Sounds good. How’s the weather there now, starting to get warm?

Sounds like that list hit it right on the head. How long had it been since you started your Beetle up?

    Garibaldi,

It sounds like this tribute to Jim will become a special honor as part of the Blanchardville Show.

Ah yes, thanks for the correction! The only info I had (thanks to Amigo2k) I posted in the “Jim Normington Car Show Extraordinaire” thread. It adds another level of significance to have the trophies and events mean something like that

Sounds great Marshall! How many new chrome pieces did you end up with total? Just looking at a car as a whole you don’t really notice all of them but I bet it was quite a few once they were all off.

Where did you take it on your drive?

I would really like to get the Trecek Auto Group Show (Portage) nailed down as well as the Waterloo Show.

Waterloo will be interesting with their tribute to Jim Normington

does anyone know where there are going to park the cars at, seeing that State Street is 5 blocks long?

I would rather see a show downtown on a Sunday that is around the square (there was one like 12 years ago). Saturday there is already too much going on with the Farmers Market.

From what I understood it would run several blocks. That would be a disadvantage because you would have to wait for traffic to continue looking at the cars

    A few updates on this:

    Quote:
Jim Normington: Annual Cruis’n Wisconsin Car Show participant, helper and dear friend passed away this past year. Jim attended many shows with many different cars over the years, including a 60’s Oldsmobile, ’64 Buick Riviera, and ’64 Chevrolet full size. In memory of Jim, Blanchardville’s show will be giving away a “Best GM” vehicle trophy starting this year. Jim’s smile, quiet demeanor, and camaraderie will truly be missed by everyone.

    Also:
Jim’s ’64 full size Chevrolet is for sale. This is a beautiful red first place awarding winning car, detailed throughout. $28,000/OBO – call 608-271-2758

Indeed. I heard back from Arlo via email and he is planning on getting podcasting of the shows going soon. This means you’ll be able to listen to them on your computer (and relisten) whenever you want and whereever you want.
